It’s all the same people and all the same attitude lol

Team USA Basketball is a private corporate entity that is separate from the WNBA, an enterprise operated by the NBA.

It's not some conspiracy. She isn’t good enough to make the team. Maybe if you watched games you'd know this instead of behaving like a cultist

Nah man the coach can’t be tweeting like that, embarrassing the national team and herself

People know Caitlin isn't even the best rookie this year, right?

I argue that she is the best rookie.

She has the biggest target on her back, is being guarded the tougher than any other rookie, & has more on her shoulders than any other rookie.

Reese & Brink are doing great things too.

She is not targeted. All the rookies are. Nobody is making a thread about Alyssa Thomas giving Reese a backbreaker to get a rebound. And nevermind off court with Chamique Holsdsclaw shooting at her ex girlfriend. Brittney Griner's wife getting pregnant.

I didn't say she is targeted (debatable) , but she has the biggest target on her back. She is the #1 pick, she had the biggest hype coming into the WNBA, she has teams scheming their defenses against her, she has players playing harder (imo) against her.

After all the hubbub, guessing she’ll be an injury replacement for Napheesa, or Taurasi.

Her play now is >>>> than it was when the team was selected.

If she is selected, man…get that young woman some rest in the offseason.

it took a month or so for her to adapt to pro basketball but her current play is definitely worthy of inclusion into this roster.

undoubtedly one of the best guards in the league

Investing in womens basketball is valuable to the long-term ecosystem of the NBA, the idea that the subsidy is a dead-end investment is not accurate. The WNBA is less than thirty years old, it takes time to develop profitability; the indirect value of getting young women across the country invested in playing basketball is massive.

How many businesses in life are able to run for 30 years off negative profits? Lol

Funnily enough one could say the nba in its earlier years and it might not be 30 but it's not a huge stretch
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Not sure we want to compare the racial components of why the nba struggled early on vs the wnba where women are not being held down by those same components.

The wnba struggles before Clark were simply because no one cared about the product.

And I'm sure people in the 70s and 80s would say the NBA wasn't being held down by racial components, just that no one cared about the product

Furthermore, the WNBA has been on an upwards trajectory for years at this point. The way y'all describe it is if it were the level of the NLF until the moment Caitlin Clark got drafted.

There are plenty of other areas where women are thriving and not being held back, including plenty of other women sports. Black folks didn't have that luxury back in the early days of the nba. While I understand what the comparison was intending, it is foolish to compare them when looking at all the facts.

And yes, wnba was on a slow upwards trajectory before Clark but let's be real... She has expedited their popularity tremendously.

Don't even feed em DOT. He is being disingenuous. It's always the same 2 or 3 weird dudes who come into this thread with an agenda to denigrate the rest of the league because they have a weird fetish for Caitlin Clark. To denigrate the other players is a slight against Clark herself, but they're too caught up in their culture war politics and whatever weird ish to even realize it.

The real Clark fans who are in it for the hoops actually comment on the day to day stuff, you see them in the Fever thread. It's good discussion all around. I hope this thread gets locked because the Olympics were over like two weeks ago and the same people are still whining.
