I saw her highlights during her sophomore year against Michigan and got hooked. The kid can ball, like one logo shot to another. And the distance was nuts. It was like watching a video game.
There was another article from Minnesota, that dude Peter something. Minimizing CC's impact because of the current WNBA Finals which by the way kinda' stupid because I continued watching even though CC/Indiana was already eliminated. These clowns, the league is not there yet. They should be careful. There were times in the past when the league had momentum and then plateaued again.
As a new fan I appreciate your perspective of being a former fan that fell off and came back. I was also drawn in by CC, she brought me here.
I assume you're in the 50+ year old crowd (not a dig to you just making that clear) so you have been following the NBA for maybe longer than I have been alive. I am sure you have read many articles by sports writers that maybe you didn't fully agree with either bashing a player, a team, hell an entire sports organization. Did you feel the same way like it's a reflection of the direction the league is headed in? As a Dallas fan, when people bash Cuban, or even worse, would write hit pieces calling Dirk overrated because he was an average defender and couldn't rebound. Did you feel like the league was going to fall apart?
I can tell you through an unbiased lens, that CC gets a lot of love and support from not only the WNBA, but its players too. Players like Napheesa Collier outwardly praise CC, and even call for her to be the highest paid immediately. The narrative that the league is against CC, is false.
Respectfully, I am curious to know whether you're just easily able to be misled, or is there a deeper meaning behind that kind of energy towards the WNBA?
