I saw her highlights during her sophomore year against Michigan and got hooked. The kid can ball, like one logo shot to another. And the distance was nuts. It was like watching a video game.

There was another article from Minnesota, that dude Peter something. Minimizing CC's impact because of the current WNBA Finals which by the way kinda' stupid because I continued watching even though CC/Indiana was already eliminated. These clowns, the league is not there yet. They should be careful. There were times in the past when the league had momentum and then plateaued again.

As a new fan I appreciate your perspective of being a former fan that fell off and came back. I was also drawn in by CC, she brought me here.

I assume you're in the 50+ year old crowd (not a dig to you just making that clear) so you have been following the NBA for maybe longer than I have been alive. I am sure you have read many articles by sports writers that maybe you didn't fully agree with either bashing a player, a team, hell an entire sports organization. Did you feel the same way like it's a reflection of the direction the league is headed in? As a Dallas fan, when people bash Cuban, or even worse, would write hit pieces calling Dirk overrated because he was an average defender and couldn't rebound. Did you feel like the league was going to fall apart?

I can tell you through an unbiased lens, that CC gets a lot of love and support from not only the WNBA, but its players too. Players like Napheesa Collier outwardly praise CC, and even call for her to be the highest paid immediately. The narrative that the league is against CC, is false.

Respectfully, I am curious to know whether you're just easily able to be misled, or is there a deeper meaning behind that kind of energy towards the WNBA?

But CC exists and is bringing a new fan to the wnba where it's about fun skill based hoop not whatever orientation or racist ideology you subscribe to. The WNBA should tread lightly they are one CC decision to take her talents elsewhere to returning to cross-country bus rides and motels where continental breakfasts are 50/50 at best.

I hate to break it to you, but game 3 of the finals averaged 1.4 million viewers. A new record.

The people who came initially for CC have stuck around for the other players that you hate so much. This information probably hurts your soul.

Reality is often disappointing. Maybe instead of trying to push a political agenda on this forum, maybe join in with the rest of us and watch Game 5 of what has been one of the best basketball finals I've ever seen.

The wnba is set to lose 40/50M this year. (again)
The ladies are not pulling their weight so kick back and enjoy watching the finals light money on fire.

Okay folks, this is a warning to everyone - but particularly you Pelon chingon seeing this post on the back of your other posts:

This is a forum where we are trying to build up a positive community from scratch.

We don't need trolling, and we won't tolerate it.

For anyone who is posting on the WNBA board specifically to rip the WNBA and mess with the people on here who do enjoy it, I think you need to ask yourself:

Why do you insist on trying to yuck someone else's yum? I'm not looking for people to post in response - you may decide that that's just how you want to be as a person, but if you do, you are not wanted here.

I find golf, for example, to be boring as hell, but I don't go onto golf forums just to rip the sport any more than I go onto an NBA team board on RealGM and trash the team.

All of this stuff represents silly little pastimes that don't really matter. Completely fine for you not to like it - it's weird that any of us like any of this - but don't try to take joy away from other people for sport.

Next, on the point about WNBA popularity/profitability: I'd really like to get into these conversations more, but it can't be done productively with people that have a tear-down agenda.

I'll end by just emphasizing again:

WE WILL NOT TOLERATE TROLLING TOWARD WNBA FANS ON THE WNBA BOARD.

Any more of this, and we'll just look to get ban you from the board permanently.

So folks, I've locked this thread, and to be clear I'm not locking it just to stop anti-WNBA people from negativity here.

To the regulars on the board: Try not to escalate things when stuff like this comes up. Remember that there is a Reporting feature.

On a board as small as ours, it's easy for Mods to see what's going on and in that sense Reporting isn't necessary to make us see something...but I know how it is as a poster on a board for a particular fanbase. You see something that feels like an attack toward the community and you want to do SOMETHING. I'm going to encourage you to pass things over to the Mod team rather than you jumping into the muck.
