Quite a shock.
I thought Quinn might be the only one let go, and if I had to pick a 2nd it certainly wouldn't have been Sandy.

No idea where NY goes from here, but they better get it right, if they are gonna fire a coach 11 months after she brought the Liberty their first title.

I don't like it because I felt that injuries + not having BLH hurt this team more than anything.

That's not to say that I don't think Sandy didn't have her flaws. But this team really never had a chance to get their ish together.

wonder how long before someone snatches her up? seattle is open along with two expansion teams

or maybe another team dumps their coach because they didn't expect someone of brondello's caliber to be available

I wonder if that's exactly what Dallas may have just done.

I really didn't think Curt would let his boy go in Dallas, but it's a good sign that they did what had to be done.
I think the practice facility may actually be opening in 2026.

They seem to be heading in the right direction. With all these FA's, Paige, a coach with 2 rings, and a practice facility could be a nice draw.

The chairs are starting to fill up.

Brondello to Toronto.

Reports for the Wings hiring Jose Fernandez from South Florida.
Did wonders at South Florida for a long time, and a hire in the Smesko mold. He's also good friends with Geno, so you'd think it's Paige approved.
Fernandez was apparently on the short list last year. His buyout was $1 million last year, but just $500K now.

Portland hires Alex Sarama. Cavs assistant and author of "Transforming Basketball".

Seattle just hired Liberty and former Grizzlies assistant, Sonia Raman.

Whether these hires work out or not, just like last year, you have to like the way teams are thinking. They seem to be expanding their reach more and more.

Man, broke my neck to get here after seeing the Raman alert.

I was thinking Sandy’s ouster might have meant Sonia taking her spot.

I also thought Sandy would make a legendary return to Seattle and maybe Sonia being the new HC/new team story of next season.

I got nothing. Also leads me to think the vibes are even less immaculate than originally thought in NY.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.
