Well, the Liberty had the most talent in the league last year too, but that didn't stop another team from getting the better of the match-up, and with that the chip.

But yes, I'd say that it will be noteworthy if the Lynx win the title because I think both the Liberty and the Aces very clearly have more talent on their rosters. One note we'll talk about also, if this happens, is the Olympic Curse, where the wear & tear of participating in the Olympics, and the negative effect that has on teams with many present Olympians on them.

Don’t think anyone will make a big point of it, but when the games are this close every play matters, and esp if you’re at a talent disadvantage. That said, Alanna Smith is clearly playing through her ankle and it’s a shame she tweaked it again today. It’s the Finals and I think all these ladies would do it, but always too bad when you don’t get everyone at their very best.

I’m sure I’m missing someone with off the top of head Olympians, but seems pretty even there between the two…Stewie/Sabrina/Leonie vs Phee/Smith/Carleton.

I was pleased with how we played. We used our size to our advantage and we moved the ball.

The Lynx aren't going to roll over. We need to keep matching their intensity.

Good game! Stewie and Sabrina really stepped up, doing what star players do.

Easy now. There's a reason the Lynx took 50% of the vote to win it all in this thread.
A lot of people have doubted them this year, and it has not paid off.

The Liberty are great, but the Lynx have had their number all year.
And now they head home, after having stolen home court advantage without even playing that well in the first 2 games.

This is going to be a battle to the end.

Breanna Stewart’s wife hit with vicious anti-gay email: ‘I hope you both die’

An anonymous homophobe sent a vicious anti-gay email to the wife of WNBA superstar Breanna Stewart, and it’s apparently not the first time, The Post has learned.

Stewart’s wife, former pro basketball player Marta Xargay Casademont, walked into the NYPD’s 78th Precinct in Brooklyn on Thursday to report the heinous email, which said, “I hope someone shoots your wife dead, f–k you d—es [sic], I hope you both die,” among other things, police sources said.

Sources added that a memo by NBA security said the email was sent from an Internet address that has been associated with other hateful missives, including death threats, bomb threats and more racist rhetoric.

It's expected on the NY Post, but the comments on that page give me zero hope for America.

Kuz ppl don’t really know what they talk about or see.. Liberty been the best team in the league for a while they just had to get over the Aces.. Lynx have a couple good players and another one that plays hard but they are unmatched top to bottom and don’t have the experience

Hmm. You're talking such that you understand the role of matchups (saying Liberty was better than Aces but couldn't get passed them), and then ignoring the fact that the Liberty had bigger issues with the Lynx during this year's regular season (1-3) than they ever did against the Aces, while saying that those who don't ignore this fact "don't know what they talk about or see".

While acknowledging:

1. Liberty have the most talent.
2. Liberty had the best overall regular season.
3. Liberty have the HCA in this series.

And so it makes total sense to see the Liberty as the favorites, if all you're looking at is the talent on the roster, you're not seeing more than other people, you're seeing less.

Gameday Nerds!!! It'll be interesting to see if Reeve makes any adjustments. The lynx are getting dominated on the glass and that makes their margins for error razor thin. If they don't shoot a high percentage, if they turn the ball over, if they get into foul trouble... Any of it is almost impossible to overcome when you're getting out rebounded 2-1 on both ends of the court.

May we see a little Dorka Juhasz?

For the Liberty they just have to keep being physical and pound the rock inside.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.

I share the same sentiment. I was picking the Lynx over Liberty before the series started. Oddly enough even though they won game 1 I knew they were in big trouble.

Like you said, the margin of error is thin, and they almost have to hope the Liberty mess up.

Checked prices cause I'm within walking distance of Target Center (even though I'm in the middle of moving so unnecessary expenditures are out) and terrible 2nd deck seats are going for 90$. Anything decent on the 2nd is 200$ and up and the best seats (there were no really good ones left) were around 450$. That's bottom deck, just off mid court, way back.

This should be an excellent crowd tonight.

Wow that’s exciting! Never would I have dreamed of $450.00 tickets for good seats at a WNBA game.
