New York sports are rigged they can’t see the city win unless it’s the bum ass Yankees or Giants (it’s ok ima giants fan) they either wanted to stretch it to 5 or win at home liberty been the best team for 2-3 yrs if they give this up it’s rigged doesn’t even qualify as a choke job tbh

How many players have a reasonable shot to win MVP? It's seems like an insane number.

Generally, you'd think it'd be Phee, Stewie, or Sabrina if they have a big game 5.

But it seems there'd be a case for Fiebich, JJ, Courtney WIlliams, or McBride if they go off in G5.

That's not even counting all the other players that have had vital roles, but wouldn't be able to win MVP (BLH, Alanna, etc.)

What a series.

I'm always on Alanna watch, and that was an heroic effort.

From the tip, it was obvious she wasn't right physically. But she played some great defense and hit some big shots. It hurt my back just watching her trying to battle with JJ.

I was shocked that she played 30 minutes in her condition, and with Dorka and Zandalasini both playing solid. But Reeve obviously knows what she's doing.

What a disappointing finish to an otherwise great game. W refs are terrible.

So let me first say that a lot of folks are reacting this way, so forgive me if I’m just ridiculously off-base, but when I saw the replay, it looked like something definitely more than a box out. I saw hands reach back and grab in a way you do to make it look like you’re just boxing out - and in real time all I saw was a box out.

I frankly would have forgiven the refs for missing that, but once I saw it, I thought it needed to be called. This isn’t one of these situations where it’s just the players are going harder in the crunch, it was strategic rule violation.

I mean you definitely don't teach to reach behind the opponent when you box out like Sabrina did, but when you watched the replay did you also notice the Lynx player trying to go through Ionescu, who had inside position, to get to the ball?

I think you could call a double foul there if you think that's a good time to showcase a very strict and absolute enforcement of the rule book, but at the end of a finals game I'd rather see the players decide the game, especially since the foul didn't really seem to affect anything.

Hmm. So, believe me when I say I re-watched to check for over-the-back, but the thing is, both players were moving AWAY from the rim (as well as sideways) because of the low probability trajectory of the carom. Sabrina's box out was perfect and would have resulted in her getting the board had the ball not bounced back high over where she was.

So I see bad luck on Sabrina's part with the ball-bounce, followed by a clear-cut foul by her once she realized that Carleton was in a better position to get it.

We got 1.4 million viewers for Game 3!!! I think this is enough evidence to suggest that the product has captured people who came initially for CC. This is fantastic.

I wonder if Game 4 pushed for 1.6? Our competition was Yankees vs Guardians and some college football.

Game 5 should break the record for the most watched WNBA playoff game of all time. This series should have been aired on prime time ABC television nationally.

Poor NFL.

I don't know how they're going to convince people to watch Russell Wilson vs. a 2-4 team when up against this amazing Game 5 of women competing for life's ultimate prize.

I watched the game in a bar without sound last night, so I missed some of the officiating drama. Kinda funny how losing sound cuts out the most annoying part of the game and you just watch the possessions.

The bar was packed despite only having 2 crappy tv's without sound, and everyone was huddled around the game. Craziest mix of lesbians, trans people, and rowdy college bros... all locked in. I walked home feeling like I just walked out of some movie magic.

On another note, it's hard to watch these playoffs and not compare it to the NBA playoffs this year. They're simply SO MUCH BETTER. With the WNBA's playstyle, when 2 good teams matchup, it's going to be a chess match and you have to do something smart to score on any possession. In the NBA, two good teams can show up and one will just shoot the other out of the gym. I've now been watching super competitive games for weeks! There hasn't been a boring blow out since the first round. WNBA blowouts are like... 13 point losses.

I don't know. I've been a WNBA fan for a long time but always liked the NBA more. This season and these playoffs have me thinking about it. I'm going to be missing the WNBA during the NBA season this year. I haven't felt like that in years past. It used to be more of a fun NBA offseason way to keep watching ball.

Right. Nowadays it's routine to see a 24+ point blow out in the NBA playoffs. It really makes the post season not very fun to watch. I feel like dudes just don't care. The W is pretty much fun from day 1 to the end of the finals.

Tomorrow is going to hurt me one way or another.

Going up against Sunday night football is gutsy, but I think we can draw a solid number and the largest rating of the season.

Plus it's Jets/Steelers so they're up against opposition in the NY market and it's the first game after the Davante Adams trade as well as up against Mets/Dodgers. Insane long term scheduling considering Saturday night would only be up against the MLB playoffs (though it is the Yankees). I Still think it does very good numbers because it's been a great series with plenty of buzz but I hope they fix this terrible scheduling for next year.

My personal debate is -
A) Buy a service for a month to watch at home
B) Go out to a bar

Cost wise, it would probably be a wash. Leaning toward B).

I expect both Stewart and Sabrina to have a great game. Do or die.

The Lynx is still one player away from that title. They need a center ala Fowles/Brunson.

Yeah, I think it'll get a fine number.

I love the NFL. But while I was joking (about it hurting the NFL), personally, choosing between Game 5 or Jets/Steelers is an easy call. Game 5 all the way.

I assume going up against the NFL isn't a problem in non-Olympic years, but I like that the W has stuck to Sunday's this year. Sunday is a great day for sports viewing, so like putting it games on a day that's convenient for fans.

And football is very easy to put on a 2nd screen. It's 4 hours with 30 minutes of action.

Gameday!!! Can I just say I love series final games. No clue what's gonna happen and I'm not too confident but I'm hopeful. Lynx have a tendency to play loose in these situations and Coach Reeve will have them prepared so there's always a chance.

Phee needs to find her fadeaway which has been short the last two games. Courtney needs to be her best self and one of Carleton or McBride are gonna need to get hot. Dorka also has to show on defense from the bench.

For the liberty this is a legacy game for Stewart, Sabrina and JJ. I expect them to take over throughout the game especially if they pull their strategic heads out of their behinds and feed Jonquel on the inside. Fiebich has evidently made a pact with the devil so if all else fails the liberty have Satan on their side.

Can't wait, and I hope it comes down to the last shot. LETS GOOOO!!!

OH man oh man oh man. I'm rooting for the Liberty to win their first WNBA Championship man. They scare me a lot when they play - they can get big leads and look superior then just crumble in the 2nd half. Won't feel any type of way if they don't win and Minnesota wins another chip though.

Crazy to say my first WNBA season is in the books after today.
