Boom. Gabby.

Seattle is going to play great D. If they start hitting 3's, they are going to be a problem.

It took Paige exactly 2 games to find her WNBA footing. 19/6/8 on the night, that's a classic Paige box score alright. And poor NaLyssa Smith. She was unhappy at Indy because she wasn't featured on the team, and then in Dallas she gets 15 minutes in her first game with the Wings and 18 minutes in her second game.

Dallas ain't much. I doubt in a couple of years that anybody on this roster will be around except for Paige.

She was fantastic.

The roster turnover might be pretty soon. New practice facility, Paige, and everybody is about to be free-agent.

They could load up around her pretty quick.

To judge from the in-game interview, Dirk is quite involved with the team. I know that he's old, but he's available and I do think he could still help on the court.

Just an idea.

Dallas has no size at all and Smith is a terrible defender.

It didn't help that Arike couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Ideally a Beuckers/Carrington backcourt would be solid but Dallas needs an actual wing. It's a clunky fit when Arike is off.

I think Paige is the only one under contract so I would think that next years team will be a way different.

Williams and Skylar are a nasty combination.

Kinda weird that Dom isn't getting any burn though.

Fever vs Dream tonight at 7pm EST on NBA TV. After Saturday's performance the Fever are must watch TV.

Aces vs Sun is local coverage so you will need W league pass.

Kinda sucks that we can't get any national coverage but I just realized Wolves vs Thunder starts tonight.

Hopefully she can start getting more time, but Quinn does tend to lean heavily on veterans (see Muhl last year).

Malonga had a very 19-year-old moment on her first touch in the Mercury game. She had the ball with 2 seconds left on the shot clock. Fairly open, about 8 feet out. Instead of shooting, she whipped a cross court pass to poor Gabby. Clock damn near expired before Gabby even touched it.

It's going to take some time. I hope she becomes great. She's a delightful kid.

Tomorrow night, America's Team (Mystics, of course) travels to Golden State.

There are no gimmies in this league, especially on a cross country road trip, but the chance for a 3-0 Mystics is fun.

Although the 6 games after that will be brutal. Liberty twice, Fever twice, Aces and Mercury.

Was Nika's contract suspended? I'd imagine so. Poor kid.

I hope Dom gets time as she gets more comfortable. I wanna see her play. She is only a kid after all so it may take time.

Aces vs Sun is free on the WNBA app or the WNBA website. Pretty much every league pass game has been free so far this season (sponsored by CarMax, so I may as well mention them). Looking at the schedule, it appears the free preview games run through tomorrow, 5/21.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

How do y'all think the Dream go about this defensively tonight?

I assume it's going to be a blowout, and most teams aren't going to be able to slow the Fever down, but the Dream seem particularly ill-suited for it

Tough spot to play Griner much, I would think. Canada being out really hurts.

This is a blowout. I think AB has a big night, she's got a score to settle with BG after she got ragdolled last year.

According to the Chicago Sky coach, neither he nor the team heard any racial slurs during the game with the Fever, and only heard about it afterward from people on social media. Caitlin Clark has also said she had heard no racial slurs. Seems likely these accusations are the invention of trolls on social media. There are plenty of people who want to throw shade on Fever fans and her effect on the league.

Definitely a blowout. I'm just curious how the Dream even attempt to go about this.

And I already feel bad for Allisha. She's going to need a big ice bath with all the screens she's about to fight through.

And BTW, Sue Bird's new podcast "BIrd's Eye View with Sue Bird" just launched. The one with Megan is awesome, but this one is just Sue and basketball.

Anyway, Sabrina was the first guest. Fantastic episode, of course.

To start off the episode, Sue apologized to Sabrina. Apparently in 2020, Sue got drunk on an IG Live and said that Chennedy Carter would be the best player from the 2020 draft class.

I imagine that was influenced by Chennedy torching the Olympic team for 36 points at A&M (and Sue being on the business end of most of those).

Reminded me of a simpler time when people could just have opinions, even if they end up being wrong, and it not lead to a social media meltdown.
