Apparently, it was Jewell Loyd that filed the complaint about the Storm, and is now seeking a trade.

Obviously, I have no idea what was going on, but it's wild that it would be Jewell. Been there forever, played with Quinn, had a natural time to leave when Stewie did, and actively recruited Nneka and SDS a year ago.

I just hope it works out for everybody involved.

If she really wants out, and can find her 3-point shot again, the Sky or Sparks could use a good veteran guard. The Sky have a bunch of cap space and she's from Chicago.

God what a mess. I don't blame Jewel for wanting out.

This might be really stupid, but I wonder if there's any chance the Storm don't protect her in the expansion draft.

I have no idea what her trade value would be. Amazing player and career.

But she's also got a max contract, she's 31 years old, coming off a bad season, and everybody knows she wants out so there's no leverage.

If there's not much they could get on the trade market, this expansion draft would give them an opportunity to get rid of a max contract quickly and get on with trying to solve whatever is going on.

Tempo is an interesting name but I'm not sure what it has to do with Toronto.

--It's a singular noun, which is always a little awkward, even if the name itself doesn't suck.
--It doesn't specifically relate to Toronto in any way that I know, although it is evidently the name of a brand of temporary car shelters based in Quebec (like a tent that you park your car under in the winter so it doesn't get buried in snow), somehow not what I think they were going for.
--It doesn't have any actual value attached to it. You can have a slow and sluggish tempo just as easily as a fast one. It's a neutral dimensional word like "size" or "shape."
--It's one step away from temp (temporary, temperature) and two steps away from tampon (INSERT tampon joke here).

And the logo looks like a jellyfish.

Yeah Tempo doesn't hit as hard as Valkyries.

It is a bad name.

On the singular noun thing, I remember when the Heat and the Magic came to be, and I just thought that was the weirdest thing ever.

But it's become fairly normalized over the last few decades, particularly in newer hockey teams and women's sports. I guess we've run out of Lions, TIgers, and Bears.

Too bad you’re wrong, on all accounts.

Surely in the NBA when players, certain coaches, or “fans” would complain about certain star players getting attention or bad for the league, it meant the league was against them!

These clips are worthy of discussion, but why jump to such extreme conclusions?

Also you calling what she’s doing pandering is extremely incorrect. Pandering would imply she’s only saying those things to fit in. She hits the nail on the head every time. Clark doesn’t care about fitting in, and she certainly doesn’t care about fans with your mentality.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown; Clark has to be better then the owners, the fans, the media, the league and her peers. Her importance is not only to the growth of the WNBA but womens sports as a whole. She cant afford to be petty or vindictive the way others can.

She continues to impress me.
