I would have put money on the Fever losing by 30, but what we got instead was the Liberty cruising for almost three quarters then flipping the switch when it came time to win.

Seems like interest has bottomed out in the Fever. No one knows when or if Caitlin is going to play, no one seems happy with the way the team is being coached - it seems like the game plan is to reduce Caitlin's impact even when she is on the floor. Like she recently said if she gets hot and makes a couple of buckets, the coach wants her to stop shooting. No one seems happy with the way the team was rebuilt over the offseason. Now it appears Caitlin doesn't trust the Fever trainers, and is seeing her own doctors instead. No one is happy with the WNBA officiating. Sometimes it looks like the NHL out there.

I guess there have been a few high spots when the whole team has been available, but that's been few and far between. The "Now You Know" promotion sounds like mockery at this point, as does the "Every Game is a Home Game" push. Oh well, spectator sports is a silly thing to get invested in. Maybe things will get better.

Bonner was a bustt and Cunningham has been useful but not a game changer. However, after a slow start Howard has been the real deal. She has the best on/off differential on the team, is playing a two-way game, and is a huge improvement at the #4 spot over NaLyssa Smith. That trade the Fever got right. Unfortunately, not so much the rest of their season.

As a side note, Clark's home splits are great. 19/5/9 with 39% shooting on 3s and 4.4 TOs per game. But my Lord, she is 2-35 on 3s this year on the road, for a 5.7% (!) shooting percentage. Yikes!

No matter how bad the Fever are, they can still spank the Sky. 14-12. I wonder what the record would be if Clark had stayed healthy? They'd probably be up there with the Mercury at least.

This team is starting to look pretty decent even without Clark. They just don't seem to have the guns do go up against the top two teams. There sure have been a lot of personnel changes this year. Good game for Aari.

I'm starting to get worried about her getting hurt so often. Like, why? It kind of sucks how Wemby and Clark who are supposed to be the next big things in the leagues they play for are now just getting hurt a bunch.

Second place in the East, but not the #2 seed. IIRC they ignore the conferences for the playoffs, don't they? We're the #6 seed at the moment.

As for Clark getting hurt, I've said it all year, but I feel like it's the sophomore jinx. She'll probably be back next season, healthy, and have a great season. Maybe I'm just overly optimistic though.

Apparently the Fever have signed Chloe Bibby for the rest of the season. That can't hurt. She seems to be a good fit.

The Fever have integrated their new teammates, figured out their lineup, and are looking legit. Earlier this year, one would have put their chances at beating the Storm in Seattle with Clark out of action and Mitchell going 3-16 at just about zero.

Fever are on a bit of a roll. Currently in a virtual tie for the fourth seed. This is about the time they started putting things together last year too.

Disappointing loss to the Sparks. I don't think the team likes to stay up late. Jet lag and all. Another adult toy thrown onto the court. I wonder who is doing that? Men or women?

Supposedly there is talk about them bringing Clark back around the third week of August. Just in time for back to back games with the Lynx. Yikes, talk about being thrown right into the fire. Almost makes you wonder if they're trying to set her up for failure.

LA is really coming together and playing well (7-1 in their last 8 games). Indiana put up 91 points (despite only 2 total points off the bench), but you're not going to win a lot of games giving up 100 points on 56.1% FG and 50% 3P (not to mention 13-15 from the line for the Sparks).

Brink was dominant on defense with 5 blocks in 16 minutes, and discouraging drives and post ups just with her presence.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Oof, the Mercury game was even worse than the Sparks game. I'm telling you, they don't like playing the late games (relative to Eastern Time).
Yawn. When is Caitlin coming back?

They also lost both their point guards (not including Clark) to injury.

Thus, only 12 assists on the game. (The lowest figure the team has had with Clark playing was one game against the Valks with 15, otherwise it has always had at least 18.)

The Fever have some good pieces but still, it's hard to run an offense without a PG!
