Is that really too much to ask of you?
I'm pro Clark. As in, I love watching CC hoop and I think she's a likeable, kinda dorky kid overall.
Some folks however have taken "pro Clark" to a place that is insidious.
If you're upset about being labeled as such you may wanna make it clear that your support of CC isn't about degrading Black female and lgbtq athletes. Because frankly there are several comments in this thread from "pro Clark" people that are indeed racist, hateful and misogynist. If you see it, call it out, instead of letting it fly like you and several others have.
Is that too much to ask of you?
I would buy it if they spent half as much time calling out people who were using Clark as a proxy in their culture war as they do lecturing others on how not everybody who uses the same racist talking points is a racist, and it's us that must do the legwork to figure out who is and who isn't
But they don't. They just get mad when someone points out that the people standing next to them have ulterior motives and rather than differentiate themselves, they take the easy route and blame the people pointing out racism/misogyny. Happens with everything, not just this Clark discourse.
Right. They don't care about the racism and general nastiness depicted in this thread, they just get upset when they're associated with it by default.
If I'm sitting at a table with Kanye West and he starts going off on a rant about Jewish people controlling the world, and Kyrie Irving is sitting to the left of me silently nodding his head in approval, should I be mad that someone calls me antisemitic when they see me silently sitting with them?
It's not that hard people. Maybe call out this stuff when you see it and people won't look at you sideways. I like Caitlin Clark too but not because she's a "well spoken
straight white young woman", but because she's a good hooper that will only get better.
Can't wait to actually WATCH her do it too. You know, since her "pro Clark" supporters can't be bothered to do that
