So easy to root for this young woman. See Commish, it’s not that hard. A now sophomore player just ran circles around your response.

Hard disagree. These opinions saying the Commish did nothing wrong advocate for acceptance of racism, in a passive manner that doesn’t mean she or you are inherently racist, but also says there’s no problem with it existing. Simple doesn’t mean pointless.
No point debating this one further.
you can sit there and be assuaged by statement if you want, I'll stick to judging actions. nobody is sweatin some peoples overdramatic handwringing claims of "if you don't parrot the special phrase on command you are a racist"

Absolutely. The league will be fine. I just think the league itself needs to listen to the concerns of the players. This may sound overprotective, but I think threats and harassment towards women should be taken very seriously. I don't care where it's coming from, or how the league does it, but protect the players. The money is coming regardless, but God forbid something happens to one of them because the league chose to look the other way in the face of threats.
You've got trolling losers making false claims that someone tried to gouge Caitlin's eyes out. That stuff can lead to actual physical harm/threats if someone is crazy enough to believe it and act on their worst impulses, we've already seen it with Angel Reese. Stochastic terrorism is a very real thing and needs to be taken seriously.

Re: Commissioner Cathy Engelbert in hot seat over CNBC comments
WNBAPA made a public statement calling out USA Today reporter Christine Brennan for her questions Carrington on the Caitlin Clark foul.
- I didn't think Brennans questions were out of bounds. She asked DJ if the foul was intentional or not intentional and to comment on it. Was there more to it?
- Doesn't seem like a good idea to call out media members like this. "Because we call B.S" "You are not fooling anyone" "we see you".

“This week was dedicated to celebrating and amplifying A’ja [Wilson], Caitlin, DiJonai, and Napheesa [Collier] for their hard work and truly exceptional performances all season long. We were not going to distract from their successes, nor would we dim the glow of the spotlight that centered them. They have earned that focus and celebration. But we will take this moment now to stand up for them and the rest of our members. Every single one of them. Because we call B.S.,
“To unprofessional members of the media like Christine Brennan: You are not fooling anyone. That so-called interview in the name of journalism was a blatant attempt to bait a professional athlete into participating in a narrative that is false and designed to fuel racist, homophobic, and misogynistic vitriol on social media. You cannot hide behind your tenure.”

Just saw a clip of a reporter asking a wnba player(not DiJonai) a question and it was phrased with the sole purpose of baiting the player to get a soundbite. The player took the high ground but man are these reporters thirsty for clicks.

It wasn't. After the commissioner was criticized for not being sensitive enough, the league did a pendulum on this question and was overly sensitive. Still trying to find the right balance.

The melo tapping head move is well known and she kind of painted it like her and mabrey were making a joke about it 3 quarters later after she made a three and denied trying to deliberately hurt caitlin. It's a very leading question, meant to frame her in the worst possible light, I think she definitely crossed a general line

the players union response could have been worded better.

The league is deliberately burning itself to the ground because they want Clark gone. If you are going to poke a player in the eye on purpose any reporter who’s doing their job is going to ask about it. I really hope she leaves.

Keep in mind that was a response not to the eye poke, but to the deaf tone response made by the reporters company; USA Today.
The doubling down on their reporter was the first extreme response to the interview.
I don’t agree with the tone and veiled threats that the WNBAPA response had, but I understand their outrage a bit.
If USA Today had been even a tad bit diplomatic in their response during a time in the league where tensions are a bit high with a new influx of all kinds of attention, this would be a non-story.

That all seems extreme. i do think there have been correctable missteps to learn from this season.

A news organization doubling down on their reporter is like the opposite of extreme lol.
