cc needs to get better at using her own dribble as a threat in fast break situations. lot of passes would've had better angle if she had dribbled 1-2 more times.

lol they hate her so much

she does shuffle her feet a lot tho. in this case she sets her pivot with her right foot between the target logo and the "G", and by the time she makes a move that foot is somehow solidly in middle of the "R".

That’s not a travel called on anyone besides her

probably. they know there are more eyes on them whenever she's playing, probably brings out even more ineptitude than usual.

It looked like she moved her pivot foot after she established possession

The idea that there's some conspiracy against CC is weird and I don't know how else to say it

Good game. This was a measurement stick game for the Fever against a good club.

The Lynx played great. That was a basketball lesson. As for the Fever -

1) Start Hull. Katie Lou gives you nothing. I mean, nothing.
2) Stop throwing the ball in the post to Boston. The passes get intercepted, and if not she gets stuffed. It's a terrible play.
3) When Clark gets trapped, RUN TO THE BALL! And Caitlin, if you are trapped and the teammates don't show, call a timeout. Don't just roll the ball to the opposition. That's silly.

On the bright side for Indiana, that was the last road game this season that Indiana will play against a team with a winning record.

Finally, I'm pretty sure that was the worst defensive game I've seen from Clark. That was bad. Between that her matador defense and her turnovers, she wasn't a net positive despite going 23/5/8. I do agree that the travel call was bogus, though. So make it 6 real turnovers.

Little callback to reality there for the Fever.

Lynx are locked in. Great connected defense, great ball movement, and tough shot making, especially by Collier, McBride, Williams and Carleton, plus Hiedeman off the bench. And Hines-Allen is giving them good minutes too. Alanna Smith has a very weird game, not taking a shot in 27 minutes, but having a game high +/-.

The Fever had their moments, but not enough to seriously threaten the Lynx, with lots of defensive lapses and offensive sloppiness. Samuelson and NaLyssa Smith were absolute no-shows. Samuelson was bad, but Smith looked like her mind was somewhere other than the Target Center, like back at the hotel, or on another continent.

The Lynx might have been tired, but they sucked it up and got the job done. The Fever looked more sluggish and rusty than rested and ready.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

The thing about these top teams, they seem to be better run than the Fever. Both in coaching and front office.

I will say I prefer the Fever's red uniforms to their blue or white ones.

have they've gotten too mentally "dependent" on CC? once she is "stopped" rest of the team have hard time moving the ball, moving without the ball, cant pass the ball to the post, cant do a pnr, it's like they're just waiting for CC to do something.

lynx are way better, but so many possessions fever looked so unsure of themselves on offense when cc got stuck, all they kept doing was 1v1 with no chance of rebounds.

That was as clear a case as you will see of a high-quality veteran team that works as a unit showing a kid team how the game is played. In the half court, the Lynx offense was fluid and multi-faceted. Lovely to watch. The Fever, meanwhile, was reduced to solo drives by the only two Indiana players who can beat their opponents off the dribble. When that didn't happen, the Fever players would just give up and throw a prayer pass to a double-teamed Boston. Painful to watch.

CC on her idol Maya Moore, who had her number retired last night

And think, some little girl is out there right now watching CC and is being inspired to follow in her footsteps like she did with MM.

Maya Moore and Napheesa Collier are from the same town, Jefferson City Missouri, and of course both went to UCONN and were drafted by the Lynx.

During the game last night, Moore was asked about her connections with both players, and she emphasized how important it was to be kind to EVERYONE, because you never know who you're going to influence. She met Phee when Phee was a freshman in high school.

Awww look at Young Phee

Maya gets it. Imagine being a little kid or teenager and meeting your hero, and they treat you poorly...it could be damaging. I think back to LeBron yelling at that little kid the other day when he was out celebrating the gold medal win and the horrified look on the kid's face...nah man. This stuff matters.

Being kind costs nothing and the end result could be greater than you can ever imagine. I'm glad Maya took her responsibility seriously
