Pretty hyped about Sabrina joining!
Cuz it makes the league more fun but also means her recovery has gone really well!

Tampering everywhere in this league.

The social media rollout has been fantastic.

Honestly? The WNBA needs to take notes. Phee and Stewie have big ideas and I doubt they're stopping here.

Leagues in general should listen to their players more. Look at Tiger and Rory inventing a revolutionary golf product, and Phee and Stewie doing the same, to some extent. Players know what people want.

Just over 24 hours away. I love the schedule. 2 games every Friday, Saturday, and Monday.

And every single game is on cable!

The 4th quarter setup might be the best part of this league, and completely removed the worst thing about watching a basketball game (one minute of game time takes 30 minutes with all the fouls).

First 3 quarters are 7:00 (also awesome).

4th quarter is not timed. You add 11 points to the leading team's score, and then the first team to get there wins.

Leading team after 3 quarters has 60? Let's roll, it's the first team to 71.

So awesome.

We've seen alternative leagues and other sports try to innovate to make the game more fun to watch. What we have never seen before is such a league also have the best players in the world.

I do like the untimed target score ending, also known as the Elam Ending after the guy who originated the idea. I've seen it used in The Basketball Tournament (a yearly tournament for teams of non-NBA players) and it works really well. It eliminates intentional fouling and empty possessions where teams just hold the ball and let the shot clock expire. Every game ends on a made bucket or free throw, although it eliminates buzzer beaters.

It also eliminates overtime, which can be good or bad depending on how the individual game unfolds, how late it happens to be, and how early I have to get up the next morning.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

I don't know if you're following the roll out on social media but I am super impressed with what Stewie and Phee have built here and they haven't even played a game.

Accessible games.

Players being paid well and being treated like the stars that they are.

Actual marketing.

Big time sponsorships.

I wish there was a way I could support outside of watching the games because I think this could grow into something huge if this year is a success and CC joins for Season 2.

On the bolded, it sounds like they've got a pretty badass child care set-up.

Chelsea Gray was on The Athletic podcast talking about the league, in general, and the child care sounded like a huge plus. On-site child care before/during/after games, personal baby sitters if players want, etc.

I say "badass", but it didn't sound all that extravagant to me, but apparently it's a lot more than what WNBA teams offer.

Is it bad after 1 quarter, I like it more than Big 3?

They just showed the arena that was specifically built for the league and some of the amenities. It's pretty damn good :o

This is fun so far. I have a feeling that Arike is going to absolutely destroy people in this format

Can you imagine those guys running up and down even on this smaller court?

So awesome. LFG.

Of all the great story lines in this game, somehow I had forgotten about Jewel and SDS duking it out.

Hell, even AE v Shakira.

It's early but I do think we need more Rickea and Dijonai.

A dozen timeouts per quarter. Hockey substitutions. Water breaks each quarter. 1 hour halftime shows.
