I hope works. Love all the players.

I do have some concern about Dallas in general, and the fit with Arike.

Arike is so fun to watch, and it's so beautiful when she's on, like every time she lights up the Olympic team.

But she's also a very inefficient volume shooter. Wings have only had one winning season since moving to Dallas, most of that time with Arike.

It will be quite an adjustment for Paige with her style and coming from UConn.

It certainly could work, and I hope it does. But there's a real possibility it could be a disaster this year.

And if I'm going to come off like a hater, may as well go all in.

I love HVL and hope it works, but I just don't get it at pick 11. Listed at 5'9", but we all know it's more like 5'6".
If you are that small, you better be a great pure PG or a great 3-point shooter. She is neither.

I think Sundell is probably a better pro prospect and she went 15 picks later.

And I expect her to be very impactful offensively from the get go. Defensively it will be an adjustment for sure. But she was picked for her crazy Doncic-like offensive ceiling anyway.

Valkyries had a sneaky good draft. Juste with all her potential for sure.

But Sellers at 17 is just silly. 6'2" guard that can create and score at all 3 levels. It's going to look silly that she didn't go in the 1st round.

Chiney made a great point last night.

Like a high % of Arike's scores this past season were unassisted. Like an absurd amount. With Paige running point next to her, that number should change dramatically. I can easily see Arike doing a ton of damage off ball

I don't know how good defensively that backcourt will be but at least they're gonna be fun to watch

I was surprised that she got picked at 11.

I echo the same sentiments. I like Hailey, I think she is a dog for sure, but she is small and I don't know what her position is at the pro level.

Of all the great things the Fever did this off-season in FA, I swear the best was Timpson at 19.

I've watched this girl destroy my Heels. Here's what she will do. She will set a good pick, roll hard to the rim, and finish. An absolute field day for Caitlin.
And then block every shot on the other end.

Caitlin, Boston, and Timpson with a bunch of shooters is going to be a major problem.

Excellent point. As much as I have my concerns, there's a chance they bring out the best in each other in ways we haven't seen before.

And with Dijonai and the bunch (love the James pick too), there's a chance they surprise and are fun and versatile as hell.

It's going to be exciting to watch.

The Fever have had the best offseason out of any team. What a complete overhaul of that roster and a great mix of battle tested veterans and high ceiling youth. CC and AB needed this badly

I wouldn't be shocked if Arike's efficiency upticks this year. I'm not sure what her prior catch and shoot numbers are but I have to think she would be lights out while Paige draws gravity off the dribble

No team had a clearer path for improvement than the Fever. It was obvious to me early last season, and to people smarter than me probably before the season even began, that a core consisting of Clark + Mitchell + Boston has simple needs. Find complementary players who defend & run, then run & defend. That's pretty much it, along with maybe another 3-point shooter and a backup PG.

Thus, Samuelson & Smith had to go, as they neither defend nor run, then players like Bonner, Howard, Cunningham, and Timpson had to come in. I feel for Christie Sides, because she clearly saw the same thing -- which is why she benched Samuelson early in the season and squeezed Smith's minutes in the playoffs. No question Sides would fully approve of the team's current construction and use the players effectively. But she got stock with the dysfunctional squad, while now her successor gets to run with the team that is properly assembled.

This would be cool to see. I feel critical of Arike's insane shot selection, but it's a good point at how her whole career she hasn't played with a point guard, or even really any kind of passer. She's been paired with a series of score-first players (Marina Mabrey, Natasha Howard, Satou Sabally). They had Odyssey Sims last year for a hot second, but traded her during Dallas' hopeless season. Can Arike shoot over 52%ts if she trades a few off the dribble insanity shots for catch & shoot looks?

Dallas will be an interesting team. They've gone from being the most giant team in the league (Kalani and Teaira + Satou and Awak Kwier) to being a team that might start 4 guards and have Paige Bueckers play... power forward?

Hmmm. As a Bulls fan I can attest that it doesn't matter who is the point guard for Zach Lavine, he's gonna be iso Zach. Put me out there or Magic Johnson, Zach will play the same way. I haven't watched Arike enough to know if she operates similarly -- but it's possible.

Small ball Dallas sounds awesome. They've got some great options for it. This team is incredibly deep with guards and smallish forwards.

Hines-Allen, Ty Harris, and Maddy Siegrist are players a lot of people might sort of forget about, but in the best version of Dallas, I see them logging heavy minutes.

Props to Maddy for winning Athletes Unlimited this year, and breaking Allisha Gray's points record.

Aziah James and JJ Quinnerly only add to that. Though I'm concerned about Quinnerly making the roster.

Jordan Robinson was asking Natasha Cloud which training camp she'd want no part of if she was a young player, and she said Dallas. Dallas is lacking in good traditional bigs, but they are super deep everywhere else. Going to be some tough cuts.

Paige/Arike/Dijonai are probably 1, 2, 3. Smith probably plays the four

I mean this team is gonna be horrible defensively but I'm just here for a good time
