you will see an uptick in viewership when the Fever and Sun play again. for all the wrong reasons of course; drama is a draw.

ESPN has been frothing at the mouth over this.

Could you imagine if people acted like this every time Jordan got put on his ass???

Entire books and 30 for 30 documentary series have been created to discuss Michael Jordan getting cheap shotted. It’s one of the defining narratives of his career. Are you new to basketball?? This is some extremely high level gaslighting and baiting, I give you props

When Caitlin Clark’s documentaries start dropping in 20 years the whole first part is going to be everyone going “man it was really messed up and insane how she was treated for the first couple years there”

Shockingly, Stephen A had an actual good take on this.

He compared CC to Larry Bird.

If you know anything about Larry Bird, the only thing he did better than shooting the ball was talking trash, and sometimes that got him into some chippy situations, Dr. J basically unloaded on him ffs. It's apart of the game. That's honestly a great comparison.

People need to stop infantilizing her. It's weird. And gross. Especially coming from grown ass men.

Lmao. Dude i dunno how old you are but people were not throwing tantrums like you and the rest of the weird side of CC's fanbase does every time Jordan got clobbered. Pistons, Celtics, Knicks etc all put him on his ass and no one cried like you do every. single. time.

You only post on here anytime someone knocks CC on her ass. You're so predictable, casual, and miserable. Go away. Troll.

LOL you literally can’t keep the conversation on the topic of basketball for once second. Your post speaks for itself, I don’t need to attack you

If the only time you pay attention to the W is every time someone breathes on CC wrong, you have serious issues and this is not about basketball.

Very weird.

the difference is you would get more balance on the discussion with Jordan and the Bad Boy Pistons for example. On some outlets you will only get traction when Clark is in an altercation or given a hard foul and then crickets until the next time it happens. Its part of where some of the resentment comes from imo. Ill say this, i find the discussion around Clark to be an improvement from what i saw last year. i think the people living on the two extreme ends are getting drowned out more and more.

Yeah no, that’s not how it went at all. Everyone knew the Pistons were cheap shotting Jordan while it was happening and why they were doing it. There wasn’t some campaign of people trying to act like it was a normal thing

I wish folks, especially the casual media would actually watch these games and understand context before going on tirades about how CC should be wrapped in bubble wrap. It's beyond annoying.

the cc-reese play was more akin to what cunningham did (grab someone and forcibly pull them to the ground) and both of those happened during play

mabrey's was during a dead ball and looked more like checking from hockey
Any updates on Phee's injury that you've come across, Hermes?

So Sophie and Mabrey got fined. Mabrey's flagrant was upgraded. She should have been ejected.

If I'm the league, those refs are on my watch list. What they did was inexcusable.

Actually, I think if Jordan were hit like that, it would have been a furor. He got fouled hard on drives, but I don't recall him every being snowplowed off the ball. Pretty sure his teammates would have cleared the benches if that had happened.

I mean, there's nothing like Mabrey's play in this 6 minute video of "Bad Boys Playoffs vs. Jordan/Bulls" incidents.

Mabrey's play was in a different category than normal dirty play. It was more in the spirt of this one, which was a BIG controversy at the time.

I still can't believe that the WNBA referees didn't instantly recognize that Mabrey crossed the line.

The WNBA commissioner has to get this under better control. The refs did not do a good job of preventing the physicality from escalating. The nba has plenty of scuffles but seldom do you see a guy get poked in the eye and then shoved by two different people while they are recoiling.

Dunleavy earned that from what i remember. didnt he punch a buck in the face and the refs missed it? actually makes your example even more fitting as the refs were to blame for the escalation there as well.

Catching up on the Mystics-Sky game (really wish this one wasn't buried on yesterday's full slate).

Chicago looked great in the 1st half.
But Sykes took over, Citron got going, and Washington just has a lot more talent and depth (GB Banham, but when she's playing a bunch of minutes and handling the ball, it's not a good sign).

For all the talk about the Mystics' frontcourt depth, that backcourt is pretty phenomenal. And a particularly bad match-up for the Chicago backcourt (which ain't great to begin with, outside of Atkins).

I feel like Sug Sutton has a Veronica Burton style breakout coming in the next year or two.

Jokic body checking Markief Morris is what it made me think of a bit. Morris I think actually got hurt from that, but Jokic is also a big guy.

Edit: looked it up because I was curious. Jokic ended up getting ejected and suspended a game for that hit.

I've seen Jordan take way worse than what CC experienced last night. Come on now.
