One of the most insane basketball games I've ever seen in my whole life! Wow, the number of twists and turns.
Courtney Williams has courage and is ready for the moment. Phee is the best player in the series. I root for the Liberty but they crumbled, and Serena had one of her worst games though Stewie is the going to be the one replaying 2 plays in her head.

That was a lot of fun, I also agree Phee is a Pheenom.
Courtney Williams with amazing heroics.
Sabrina isn’t going to have another game like that, and look how tight it was… Jonquel was eating them alive.
This series is already living up to expectations though.

Because we stopped moving the ball
Like I don't mind Sabrina being aggressive but she took some really bad shots in the 2nd half.
Ugh. That loss hurt badly, I can't lie. Woke up thinking about it

Jonquel was too much for the Lynx, I have no idea what they can do about her. She was killing them on the glass and the offensive end.

I have to give Courtney Williams her flowers. That was a performance for the ages.
All credit to the Lynx. I saw some fans on reddit saying we beat ourselves, but no. They beat us thoroughly, they outscored us in the last 3 quarters and OT. They are now 4-1 against us this season. To paraphrase the great Pedro Martinez, the Lynx are our mothers.
Game 2 I need to see some adjustments. Move the damn ball and lock in defensively. I'm so pissed

Coaching comes into play here because we should have kept feeding her until she broke them mentally. Instead Sandy let's Sabrina hero ball instead of calling for Jonquel to get the rock.
Obviously the players need to hold themselves accountable here but I watched a 19 point lead evaporate while Sandy was staring off into space. Absolutely zero leadership from the bench

Still buzzing over that game. There were a couple times I almost turned it off. Man I'm glad I didn't. Can't wait for Sunday!!

I also agree, idk why they didn’t just feed Jonquel. I wonder if they were concerned with getting her into foul trouble? She was getting away with a few, maybe coach thought that would change with the big lead? Still, you ride the hot hand… she was beasting and feasting.

I'm not sure but again, there was some hero ball plays from Sabrina that I wish we could take back and have Jonquel get the rock instead

Phee had one of the greatest defensive performances I’ve ever seen in basketball history last night. She constantly blew up plays from all angles. Legit shut down Stewie like she was a nobody, switched onto Sabrina like it was nothing and then switched onto JJ late in the game. It was a masterclass.
I’ve been saying it here all season. I think the Aja Wilson being 2001 Shaq level dominant narrative is weird. I’d love to see some advanced stats bc Phee just looks like the better player.

The moment I laid eyes on her in the regular season she hasn’t stopped impressing me. I love Clark, she probably is the main reason that got me looking at the WNBA, but Napheesa has kept me glued.

I don't think I've been hurt so badly by a loss like this in a very long time.

Like I'm demoralized right now. Call me a bitch if you want, but man. I'm not okay

This is my concern with the WNBA. I don't need any more teams to get me all wound up. I'm trying to watch without getting too invested.

Nah man, you're a fan, and fans feel the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat sometimes more than the athletes do.
I'm sorry you're hurting. I can't say I'm cheering for the Liberty - though they do have the best jersey in the W and the best mascot anywhere - but I'll be happy for you if they win MDB!

It's far from over, the Liberty were so dominant up until the very end. I appreciate your passion, it's cool to see the WNBA has fans like you.

Finally getting a chance to watch now.
It's very wild already knowing the outcome. It's hard to imagine a more impressive 1st quarter than what the Liberty did. Just rolling. And JJ dominating, which always points to great things for the Liberty.
I'm sorry, MDB. I still don't know how this thing turned, but it had to be gut-wrenching.

And then the Liberty withstood the 2nd quarter Lynx run and bringing it back to even in the 3rd. A lot of teams would crater, but the Liberty responded and took the lead back out to 10 late in the 3rd.
Oh no. This is going to be so brutal.

Nothing. At least likely nothing. Coach Reeve is a bit of a sadist. There was an after game press conference while they were playing the Mercury where Alana Smith was talking about having to defend Britney Griner 1on 1 and said laughing but a bit despondent "I told Coach at half time 'I need help. Please send somebody' ".
To which Cheryl responded "and you have no idea how much we appreciate Alana dealing with the fact that we didn't."
My guess is Reeve is gonna try to get what she can out of Alana defensively and try to make the best out of it. Being up a game on the road with home court advantage secured is just gonna make the Lynx more bold in trying to.apply pressure schematically. Just my best guess.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.
