VOTE: WNBA 2024 All-Stars. Ends June 29th

Early votes are in!

This years All-Star game is TEAM USA vs WNBA All-Stars - so I am a little confused why we can vote in Team USA players? Some Team USA players won't be selected to All-Star like Chelsea Gray, but we're only allowed to vote so many positions.

Im assuming the wnba players actually care about winning the game still. Unlike the Men who stopped giving a **** since Kobe retired.

Most likely the players on the Olympic team who get enough votes will be honored as all stars as well.

The Team USA vs WNBA all stars will be a legit game.

The women actually have pride unlike the spoiled and coddled men.

Honestly, I've enjoyed the W way more than the NBA for awhile now. The way these guys don't care is a turn off. Why should I care about a team winning when the players don't care? This isn't a one way street.

I'm gonna vote. Jonquel should be an all star

I voted A'ja, Stewie, Jonquel, Napheesa, Alyssa, and Angel for my front court. I will give BG my next vote when I'm eligible but Jonquel and Napheesa should be all stars.

Backcourt: Sabrina, Copper, Arike, and McBride. CC doesn't need any help she's a lock for the game

ah ok, not all based on the fan vote:

All-Stars are picked by a combination of voting from fans (50%), current WNBA players (25%) and media (25%). Fans can vote daily online through June 29. After voting closes, the top 10 vote-getters will be named as All-Star Game participants, with any national team members staying on Team USA.

The remainder of the 12 members of Team WNBA will be chosen by the league's coaches from a pool of the next 36 highest vote-getters, which must include at least nine guards and 15 post players. Coaches can't vote for their own players.

AB being over Stewie :o

I'm not mad as a Liberty fan, I was just shocked. But it makes sense that CC's fans will vote for AB.

I was going to note in the general thread, but one thing I’ve noticed is that the games are much more competitive in terms of intensity and effort. Feels more like playing for pride, and “playoff” like…esp when you get a big matchup like Sun/Aces.

To be fair there are a lot fewer games, and there’s probably a bit of “I’m sick of seeing you” kind of competitiveness that can develop with fewer teams seeing each other more often (like a playoff series), but let’s not pretend the huge money, the buddy buddy, the huge stardom doesn’t affect the night to night effort in the NBA.

Good point. The fewer games/space between games does help keep the product fresh. I honestly think that the NBA season is way too long and they schedule is too tight. To be fair, most NBA players do compete, I'm being hyperbolic, but I feel like W regular season games carry more weight and the players just bring it. You can't coast in the W and expect to make it in the playoffs.

Last year at this time, A'ja had 35.9k votes to lead all players.

This year? 218k

Change is good.

That is wild! My first time voting this season

Good for all the women in the league getting exposure. A year ago I didn’t really know more than 5-6 players: Sabrina, Stewie, Taurasi, heard of A’ja Wilson due to NBA players talking to tweeting with or at her. I knew Lexie Hull from Stanford lol. Probably a few more. I knew a lot more WNBA players growing up. I watched a lot as a kid

lol, so am I going to be the only one to point out that those numbers are extremely fake and fabricated? You’re telling me those votes are 6x higher than last year but the singular person that is the reason for that isn’t even winning? Just more laughable stuff from the W. Btw not saying anything about the quality of play or what is “deserved” but if they publish something that is so completely laughably illogical I’m going to laugh at it

If you don't like the WNBA, you don't have to post in this forum. This is a weird post.

Yeah honestly this is pretty damn cool. I'm voting more for this than the NBA

I think this might do serious numbers.

CC and Angel most likely will make the team thanks to Team USA taking the heavy hitters anyways. So the prospect of them teaming up to play against A'ja, Stewie, etc is a massive draw.

Imagine the ticket prices!!
