What a fun game between the Mystics and Fever.

Yeah, Caitlin was out and the Mystics had a bunch of injuries. But this game was intense. Again, a pre-season game. Starters played most of the time. Sykes and Bonner got into it. Kiki and Sophie did too. Again, a pre-season game.

The Fever additions? Oh boy, that's going to work. Bonner, Howard, and Sophie seem like they will do exactly what they were brought in to do. Boston is ready to roll, and Kelsey didn't have a great shooting night, but we know that will come. Fever are championship or bust, for sure.

As is seemingly always the case with the Mystics, they've got a load of talent even if it may not go anywhere.

First of all, CItron absolutely belongs. I know she's been pupu'd for not having a lot of upside. But she has legit size and does everything well. She's going to make the right pass, play great defense, and knock down the shots. I don't understand a world where there's no upside in that.

Again, who knows what this year's Mystics will do, but I love the talent. I swear Emily Engstler will be a star in this league at some point. Wings could get her for nothing and she'd make them instantly better. A tough stretch 4 that makes good decisions.

Lucy looked good in her minutes. I hope she makes the team.

Mystics started 0-12 last year and came within 1 shot of making the Playoffs. This team has a lot of talent.

Another ACL tear with KLS in Seattle. Sucks for her. This was supposed to be a big year for her after last year where she was still getting back in shape.
I'd assume this probably assures that Sundell will make the roster, and gives Conner or Hobbs a little more of a chance.

The Shyanne Sellers mystery continues. She's been waived by the Valkyries already.
Who knows what's going on. Seems like it has to be a medical issue, although her sister is saying she's healthy.

Excited to see my girl Dewanna Bonner on the Fever this season.

We already knew this, but the Fever landing DB just isn't fair to the rest of the league.

Good to see TImpson get in early.

Fever have some tough roster decisions, but they have to keep her. She's the perfect long-term running mate with CC and AB.

Well, OK it's a pre-season matchup rather than regular season, but I think it belongs in this thread. The report on today's Fever-Dream game -

1) Sloppy game, for devotees only.
2) Clark in midseason form, posting 13/6/7 (and a technical foul) in 23 minutes.
3) Paopao was lively, already looks like a player in this league.
4) With the Fever's new signings, Lexie Hull in theory might not get many minutes, but she will. You can't keep her off the court; she's next level energy, like a female Alex Caruso.
5) Unless one of them changes her hair style, Cunningham & Hull will confuse announcers all season long.

Finally, Sophie Cunningham left the game with an ankle injury. I think she just twisted it, but we shall see.

I just want to say I'M BACK BABY lol. Ready for this upcoming season. Can't believe it's been a full year since really becoming a fan and watching this league. So much has changed. My city has a squad now. LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO.

Ah, just checked the schedule for tomorrow. Two made-for-TV matchups, Aces vs. Liberty followed by Fever vs. Sky. Sweet! Although I doubt that the Fever/Sky rivalry will match last year's vibe ... some of the relevant parties are gone, and it's also likely that the Sky will struggle to stay in the game.

I projected them 4th, which is probably going to look really stupid. That team loaded at the top and deep as hell, even without BLH and Kayla.

Burke and Sabally, of course. Johannes is such a fun scorer. Izzy will provide some solid minutes. Hopefully Maquesha can keep developing because she's a hell of an athlete.

The Sky are much improved from last season so I wouldn't sleep on them. Their guard play and 3 point shooting will be way better than what we saw last year.

Even without BLH (get well soon mama) and KT, this roster is better than last year, so outside of Las Vegas and Minnesota, I don't see anyone else having enough smoke for us.

Yeah, Sky are much improved, but it's hard to imagine them hanging with the Fever. However you rank the top 4, the gap between #4 and #5 seems pretty big.

But the Sky could be very easily be a 5 or 6 seed. They added everything they needed to add, and Marsh seems like such a great hire.

It's going to be fun to see how it plays out.
