Better than Love? Doing what? Not playing basketball.
He won't make the 1st round and he doesn't deserve to. He's just too under-athletic and slow (much more than Love), it'll be pretty tough for him to make the transition to the NBA game. I can see him being a dominant PF in Europe but no more than a 4th big in the NBA. And in that case, you're wasting a draft pick because the chances he never crosses the Atlantic are high.
It's amazing what dominating a meaningless exhibition game can do for your draft stock. Macvan has beeb playing pro basketball at a relatively high level for 2 years, it'd be extremely surprising if he wasn't able to dominate some high-schoolers. What were people expecting?

I would go directly for him if i were olympiacos! I consider him to be the only euro big man to be able to challenge pekovic in the coming years. Plus, Hemofarm could really use the buyout cash as opposed to the 350.000 any nba team can give.

He needs more time and he has a 1% chance at being a first round pick this year. A team would really need to fall in love with him and I just don't see that happening.

You must be his agent because he doesn't even come close to being Kevin Love right now.
If he went up against Kevin Love he would be asking himself why he ever picked up a basketball. Milan doesn't need his confidences crushed right now.

I think that R.Rubio isnt ready for nba now. That means nothing.Do you ever watch Macvan's game? You are probably blind if he doesnt reminds you on Kevin Love.Im' not saying that he plays on the same level such Kevin Love plays and im not saying that he is better than him but if right scouts watch him and saw his talent ,the team that takes him would be winners in this draft.peace (sorry for my eng)

Did you watched finals of world championship betwen Serbia and USA for youngsters?and he really "put in pocket" Michael Beasley.I know that sounds funny.By the way he really show interest to go to nba.He was born 1989 so he is very young.meaningless exhibition game?I see that you just watch him that game at nike hoop summit. That a big problem for NBA they have very bad scouts in Europe.

I agree with Joana. I think Macvan is incredibly talented and is a very smart player, but his lack of athleticism and physical gifts will prevent him from really being effective in the NBA IMO. He will struggle to move his feet laterally against quicker bigs, and will get eaten alive on the boards.
I would take a chance on him in the second round, but I wouldn't touch him in the first.
I'd like to be proved wrong, because I'm a big fan of his game.

Yes, I watched him in the U-19 WC. Beasley barely played in the final; btw, Ajinca also dominated Beasley - but that doesn't make him a better NBA player now. I've seen Macvan playing for the first time in the Memorial Juan del Moral when he was 14 or 15 years old; and I've seen plenty of his games for FMP and Hemofarm and the Serbian national teams. I only made a reference to the Nike Hoop Summit because that was the game you mentioned in your OP.

Far from being blind actually. His game does remind me of Kevin Love, but he is far from being ready for the NBA, and I can't believe people actually think he can produce Kevin Love's rookie numbers. My point during my last reply was basically if you compare Macvan's NBA rookie stats to Kevin's it would be like comparing one of the greatest to one of the worse NBA players ever. People are basically suggesting that he can produce Kevin's rookie numbers and by saying that it actually means Milan Macvan would mentioned for rookie of the year. Very entertaining to me.
The team that takes him would be the winner of the draft? What I get from that is you basically think he's the prize of the draft and when people look back on the 2009 draft they'll think Milan Macvan. Is that correct?

His shot is iffy. Right now, I think he would be a third stringer for a lottery team.
