Humm, I would say, Turiaf is having a good carier considering he was a late first/second round pick.
Batum will have a nice career too, I'm certain of it. His ceiling is not the greatest, but he'll be a great specialist for a contender team.
Tony and Boris, I don't think I have to prove how they belong to the NBA.
Mike Pietrus is a strange case. He had to live with Nelson, be used as a PF, and that's ridicilous. He would be great if he had a better shot selection and more BBIQ. I mean, like 6th man of the year. Right now, he's versatile, he can hurt you with his offence, and can help you a lot when he's on. His defense is good tough. He was IMO overrated, both in France and in the USA, after the Magic went to the Finals, but he belongs to the NBA for sure, and can help a contending team.
Noah, of course, will be a good player. IMO he's the perfect guy to go with a PF like Dirk (or Durant if he ever becomes a PF, for instance), and I'm sure Bulls fans value him.
Gelabale was stuck in a bad situation IMO, behind Lewis and Ray Allen, and his freak injury occured...too bad, because he's a good player. He just don't have a knack for scoring, and tries to help his team with other things. I would say he could have been successfull , like 8th-9th man on a good, not great team, but he needed a certain type of team- not the easiest player to have in your team, I would say.
Finally, yes, Ajinca and Petro are a mystery for me. Petro had the tools to be a good backup C, but he just came on a very bad team, and with IMO a bad approach to the game and to his game. I think he left way too earlier France, and of course the lack of a good coach in Seattle did not help him.
Ajinca was drafted on potential, he's long and atlethic. But I don't know much of his game.
Ian could have a little role with the Spurs this year. I do hope so, cause he's a good guy, a hard worker. He can be IMO a 5th player in a rotation.
And De Colo, I'm sure he'll help the Spurs from the bench in 2 years. He just feels the game, and has a good scoring instinct.
As to why they don't stay in France, well we, young or not so young basketball players, we all see the success of TP. And the NBA is the dream, not the Euroleague.
Plus, to live in the USA is also a dream for a lot of youngsters in the country I would say, hence the fact that the NBA grabs more french players than some of others countries.
Hope the english wasn't too bad, b/c it was a long post.
