satoransky has one big question mark....he does evrything good, but nothing great. simpley has nothing that will seaparate him from the rest. such a players rarley finish as great, mostley as good role players. especially if he is going to play at SG

after seeing him many times imo the ONLY things he is lacking is aggresiveness, shooting of the dribble/move, experience and a bigger role and i think that is coming from a) the coach as i think they see him as being too young at 19 to take major responsibility and b) him playing point guard primarily and focusing on getting his team mates involved...his size and athleticism is what seperates him from 95% of other european guard prospects..he is basically a shorter version of his counrtyman vesely in that regard.

i think he will assume a much bigger role next year and really start breaking out..imo it is an absolute blessing for his development for him to be starting and for the team to be playing him primarily at point guard...his ball handling is very good and improving as is his passing..he has all the althletic tools you could ever ask for...imo the absolute worst case for him in the nba is belinelli and best case is ginobilli/roy...he is still only 19 years old and has a lot of room to grow.

he is exactly one year younger than rubio and had very comparable numbers in the acb....he is much bigger, much more althletic, a much better shooter and is pretty much better than rubio in all areas outside of passing and ball handling..i think he's the best international prospect not in this draft and a better prospect than rubio.

You assume too much about Satoransky. If he becomes an elite floor-general and playmaker, a guy good enough to run the offense for a NBA team, then he has a chance of achieving greatness. But he is nowhere close to that right now, he stepped up nicely when Calloway went down but let's no go overboard.

I also thought the OP meant greatness in the sense of being All-NBA level of players. Some of those guys mentioned are nice prospects but they have no chance whatsoever of achieving greatness.

a lot of the draft is projecting how a players tools will translate to the nba, do they have tools to be a great player? imo satoransky does...he has terrific size, terrific althletism - both jumping, speed and a pretty dam good first step, a very good stand still shooter etc etc

i could go on and on. i personally just think that he is extremely underrated as a prospect e.g draft express has him as a 18th pick of of the 2nd round next year while evan fournier(exactly one year younger) is projected as the 23rd pick of the first round despite being less productive in a far weaker league, being a less impressive shooter, ball handler, passer, althlete etc etc.

i think he will be a very good player in the nba some day. i think if satoransky had been able to play in the nike hoop summit last year people would be more aware of him and he'd be more highly regarded.

stupid stats(i don't know why i'm posting this) but comparing rubio's cuurent season at age 19/20, ginobilli's last season in europe in the italian league at age 24/25 to sato's 2nd year in the acb at age 18/19..per 40 minute pace adjusted:

satoransky - 13.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 4.5 apg, 1.9 spg, 0.3 bpg - 46%fg, 40%%3fg, 70%ft age 18/19
rubio - 9ppg, 5.8rpg, 7.5apg, 2.9spg, 0bpg - 33%fg, 27%3fg, 77%ft age 19/20
ginobilli - 23.9ppg, 5.2, 2.7apg, 5.1spg, 0.5bpg - 51.6fg%, 38%3fg, 73.4%ft age 24/25

Last two guys have NBA level athleticism. They're not your typical International players.

Read a couple of things that inrigue me about this guy(Herzonja):

Best European guard prospect since Drazen Petrovic.

Would probably be a top 3 player in his highschool class (sophomore) if he were playing in the US.

Last week there was Croatian U-16 championship. I must say I saw something that scared me...Yes, he was best playere there and showed some stuf you don't see from white euro kid like cuple of athletic lay up with hang time, and some great athletic dunks including one breakaway winmill dunk

But some other things showd up...In first game, he got nervus prety fast wich latter lead to his very poor game with "only" 26 points and 23 rebounds....but with terible shoot selection...finished with 0-16 for 3...some of those were almost from half court over player without that being last secend shoot...and him sespite haveng all tools to dominate doesn't show much desire to penetrate to basket...and when he dose despite his athletic wa of scoring might take your breat away his balance are fundumetals are very poor...almost always ands with some mariion look alike tree point shoot, with difrece he does that with hang time close to basket...that is not skill that will translete to high basketball level-----on defense he was teribley uninterested...his slow motion walk to get back on defense with cocky stand showed how much of dick that kid is was....and his arogancy can not be compared with anyone...lebron and kobe look like very small sypatic kids next to him.......consistantley yelling at teamates after evrey wrong (his or their) move, sending refs coaches, oponents, his coach, teamates to some dirty places......since there is big buzz around him and dario saric in croatia those games were folowed around by 1000 people including same former nba and euroleague players like stojko vrankovic, mario kasun, nikola prkacin or others like croatian hanball legend ivano balic and so on who all came just to see him.....the fact he was probabley only 16 year old kidd that got hevily booed infront of domestic club fans as chapionship was hosted by his club speek for it self

i'm afraid if this kid doesn't change something in his head he will always stay hryped kid and will never become player he can become

Raul Neto is now averaging 16.2 ppg at only 23 mpg. About 27 points per 40 at Fiba U-19(behind only Jonas Valanciunas). He's scoring this volume at 60% FG, more efficient than Jonas V.

He's been great. Also, Lucas Nogueira is a 10/9 at low mpg and blocking a ton of shots per game.

Neto is 85% and Nogueira is 78% at the line.

Bigs - Jonas Valancuiunas vs Donatas Motiejunas

Who has better start to NBA career.

Who has best to become all star.

Who has better overall career in the NBA.

I ask because many know a lot of the European game.
