You guys really need to come up with some new material.
I definitely think it's a big deal the USA is losing in this tournament. It illustrates to me how the US doesn't really have any good young prospects going forward. Guys like KD, Curry is the best American Players, but they are very old in the tooth. Even with those guys going forward next year in '24 I think it will be hard for the US winning gold. The tournament also showed the US is grossly undersized. There is not really any good US bigs outside of AD, KAT, etc.
KAT isn’t American for international play, and we really do have a huge dearth of bigs.
It is true that Americans don’t care. So many sports and entertainment options. We get we can lose in a one-off. I think we’re supremely confident that if you let every team gel equally, and played longer series, the US would be the clear cut winners each and every time. So confident a one-off loss just isn’t something to get worked up over.
As an aside, I like when we bring role players like Josh Hart, Reaves, and Portis on to the roster. Guys that play off of stars during their day-to-day job, don’t need the ball all the time, and aren’t shell shocked trying to do something different (like Ingram). I can’t believe how many fools still say “well, if we bring all our best players!!” because “all our best players” simply don’t fit well as a team.
