The game was played yesterday. USA team beat World Team 101-97 with the World Team at one point leading by 15. But like last year, a late run was made and the USA team was able to win the game with some clutch three pointers.
International players who stood out
Enes Kanter - All I have to say is that this guy will be a future star in the NBA if he continues to play like he did yesterday. Absolutely great performance by Kanter. I believe he eclipsed Nowitzki for the most points by an international player with 34 points. He also managed 13 rebounds, even though USA was a bit undersized. Overall, he SHOULD be a top player next year in college (will play for Kentucky) and a top 5 talent in the draft next year if he chooses to declare.
Nikola Mirotic - A very knowledgeable player who plays like a veteran. He should get some attention from NBA scouts due to his understanding of the game. While he doesn't have the same upside as Kanter, he certainly has tools to be a successful role player if he chooses to come to the NBA. He'll play for the Spanish NT in the future so you'll be seeing a lot of him.
Dejan Musli - Very aggressive player who pretty much force his way to points and rebounds. I don't think he has much of a future in the NBA but I think he'll be a serviceable big man in Europe AND for the Serbian NT.
Tristan Thompson - Played pretty well against a USA team that he's somewhat familiar with. He certainly has the potential to be an impact player down the road but right now he needs a lot of work.
Sui Ran - Made some flashy plays as point guard. He was also active on the defensive end which open up fast break opportunities (one nice play involved a no look pass to Kanter for the layup). However, one of the Chinese posters who has watch him in the CBA said that he's nothing special. I guess we'll see how his career goes and if that declaration holds true.
