Well, in a lot of the european countries you couldn't even "purchase" a club since the clubs are member owned organizations. What you could do is run a campaign to be president of the team, and if you'd promise to invest some of your own money to make the team better you might win the election.

depends on the team. Most big powerhouses, esp those that also have soccer teams have a value of many times the most expensive NBA franchise. There are teams sponsored by companies that invest hundreds of millions a year, so there you have teh value. There are some minor teams that worth the real estate of their stadium at most.
