2010 European Player of the Year is....

FIBA Europe announced on Friday that Milos Teodosic of Serbia has been voted European Player of the Year for 2010.

The award winner was chosen by the public and an expert panel vote by media representatives and coaches, following a historically tight race that was only decided on the last day.

I never understood this voting. If it was only for guys who are playing in Europe I would agree with Teodosic but cmon Nowitzki or Gasol should win this award every year. They are clearly best basketball players from Europe.

Even then, Navarro or Kleiza had a better season in the past Euroleague and Linas led a depleted Lithuania to the Bronze medal in the world champ.
This award is a joke, the real european player of the year award is the one who gives "La Gazzetta dello Sport".
