Our PG's are not good enough for NBA, bur they can surely compete with Top european PG's on this level. Do you think Rubio has the mental toughness or experience to lead a team like Tunceri does? No way. In Europe being a PG is about leading a team and being smart. Papaloukas, Jasikevicius, Diamantadis. Best PG's oft las decade but none of the is or was NBA material. Playing guard in NBA is not easy. You need to be quick and athletic. Otherwise you have no chance.

This team is filled with versatile players who can play many positions. Hedo and Emir can play 1-4. Ersan can play 3-4. We have every type of player you need. Good shooters, good ballhandlers, smart players, warriors, good bigs, shooting bigs, mobile big man, good defenders on every position. The only playertype we lack is a scoring SG but Ömer Onan is a play who can hit 3-4 three pointers on any given day. so most important thing for this team is that key players stay healthy. I'm excited about this eurobasket. Every team tries to bring best players they have. will be fun to watch.

anything other than a finals appearance would be a failure for this Turkish team.. most of the players are on their prime, and they beat most of these opponent teams by 20+ points just last year.

Loukas Mavrokefalidis left the team for personal reasons. We don't need him.

Big Sofo has an eye issue and there were whispers he may back out. He's sticking around for now.

Nick Calathes hurt his toe on his right foot and is out for the tryouts/practices. 3-week recovery, but he's on the 12-team roster for sure.

Pat Calathes is now trying out to try and get onto the 12-man squad. Pleasant surprise. Good guy.

Zouros continues to get unlucky with this roster.

Stratos Perperoglou is out for the tourney and up to 6 months with thrombosis. Blood clotting was found in a vein behind his knee. They caught fairly early, otherwise could have been at risk for a pulmonary embolism.

Does anyone know if there will be a stream available in the US. Love to watch this if possible.

Are we talking about the same Rubio who lead his team to the Euroleague title? and are you seriously comparing Tunceri to Papaloukas or Jasikevicius?

He is gonna play for Turkish National Team. He is already at camp in Bormio in Italy with the Turkish roster. He has been playing in Turkish league for 3 years and really developed his game thx to Euroleague experience and Bogdan Tanjevic. He is gonna back Hedo up but also play some guard ball too.

Turkey's new roster is damn talented with the yound additions of Furkan Aldemir (Rebound and Block king in Euro U20), Enes Kanter and Emir Preldzic.

I would never take Jasikevicius over Tunceri in this turkish roster. Tunceri plays tough, leads the team in defence and offense. Jasikevicius never played defence in his live. Jasikevicius is a star due to his character. He is a winner. Comes from bench and changes the game with either shooting or assists. Nowadays defence is nearly most important thing in basketball. you can't win without playing tough.

New information about turkish team: Gönlüm will miss EC. Coach Ene tries to get Erden in shape. If not Aldemir will be in EC roster.

Now Spanoulis is out of the tourney with an abdomen problem. This is **** ridiculous.

Group A and B are way tougher than the other groups... and they'll cross in the next round to make group E (much much better than F)... i have some doubts about the draw...

What doubts? Lithuania, the host, Spain and Turkey, two of the most powerful federations in FIBA Europe, are in that group A. Unless you're claiming that Greek lobby is stronger than all of those combined, which is crazy.

I wonder if there were top seeds (there are too many in group A and B) or all the teams were considered like the same... i don't say the draw was not regular but i question the draw mechanism.

In the first 2 groups there are Spain, Turkey, Lithuania, France and Serbia: all powerhouses.

In the last 2 groups just Greece and maybe Russia can be considered like that.

The final standing of the EC won't be fair as the best teams all came from the first 2 groups.

France was never a powerhouse. Slovenia and Croatia are far more consistent, and if you put Russia there, then you have to put those two, too.

And of course there were seeds before the draw, like they always are. First tier was Spain, Serbia, Greece, Slovenia, all teams from Final 4 of 2009 Eurobasket. Turkey was in second tier because they sucked that year and Lithuania was in third tier because they sucked even more.

Looks like Roko Ukic is out for Croatia. **** up his ankle pretty bad. Huge blow to their tourney chances.
