I know this is a hot button issue for a lot of people, but I am curious what people within the Basketball Universe think about this?

In the 80s FIBA Asia Banned Israel from competing against Middle Eastern Teams, Which is why they always play in Eurobasket. The rub is Eurobasket teams are way better than the FIBA Asia teams which prevents a country that could play in the Olympics from ever qualifying.

Israel is also playing at the Euro football (soccer) tourneys.

As a problem (or issue) stemmed from historical / cultural reasons, it is not what we can control.

Finally I know why they play on Eurobasket. That always bothered me.

What do you expect? Most arabs hold hatred towards Israelis, and rightfully so. The court would turn into a boxing ring in seconds.

I'm against Israel playing at European championships of any kind. I'm 50/50 on Turkey and Kazakhstan too but I'll give them a pass since one part of their territory belongs to Europe.

Israel, however, has nothing to do with Europe. But yeah, their lobby is too strong.
