well, lets be honest here, almost every single country from Europe has a good naturalized player mostly from US. Why wouldnt Slovenia have one?

Throughout the history we have always had naturalized players from former YU republics, and none of them ever brought any upside or made a difference in our national team, Randolph fills our weak 4/5 position.

Hats off to Nesterovič and company, amazing move!

There are a lot of national teams that don't.

I don't see any naturalized players for Lithuania, Serbia, Greece, France, Italy and so forth.

Anzejs Pasecniks
Rolands Smits
Kaspars Berzins

Klavs Cavars
Rolands Freimanis
Andrejs Grazulis

Wings

Janis Timma
Ojars Silins

Kristaps Janicenoks

Guards

Janis Strelnieks
Dairis Bertans
Janis Blums
Aigars Skele
Zanis Peiners
Arturs Ausejs
Davis Lejasmeiers
Ingus Jakovics

Hopefully Davis Bertans will play (he will decide sometime at the end of June), also let's see if Pasecniks will be available after the draft. Either way, what do you think - are they potentially the second best team in group D?

My prediction for Top 12 if everyone is available:

Porzingis, Pasecniks, Meiers
Davis Bertans, Smits
Timma, Silins
Dairis Bertans, Janicenoks, J.Berzins
Strelnieks, Blums

That's a hell of a talented team they got....

Lol 90% of French players are naturalized. In every team sport for France.

The next 12 players for this European Championship for France :

PG : Heurtel, born in Beziers, France
Diot, born in Bourg-en-bresse, France
Westermann, born in Haguenau, France

SG : De Colo, born in Sainte-Catherine, France
Jackson, born in Paris, France

SF : Fournier, born in Paris, France
Toupane, born in Mulhouse, France

PF : Diaw, born in Bordeaux, France
Tillie, born in Cagnes-sur-mer, France

C : Seraphin, born in french Guyane, France
Lauvergne, born in Mulhouse, France

I can do the same list for any sport in France and show you than at least 90% of them are all born and raised in France, ignorant !!
please, if you don't know anything about something, just shut up. thank you very much.

Except that they are not. Never mind the fact that it's an actual FIBA rule that you can only have 1 naturalized player on a team. So no team could have in actual fact more than 1 out of 12 players (8%) of the team that is naturalized.

Sure some countries find ways to get around those rules, like Turkey for example (which has for years taken players from eastern Europe and changed their names), but France is not one of them.

We can understand quite well that you obviously want "purity", like a certain vegetarian painter from Germany/Austria did.

Big blow for Spain...Sergio Llull is injured and he will be out from basketball for six months.

How are your teams looking in exhibition games so far? Besides the game where Spain lost Sergio Llull and then crapped the bed, they have dominated. Just beat Venezuela 90-44 today.

Lithuania cant shoot to save their lives, terrible shooting team. Valanciunas looks awful as well. Gudaitis and Motiejunas combo is very good defensively at least.

France is doing meh so far ! Just played croatia and had a double confrontation vs lithuania : 1-2 !
Saric, Bogdanovic and croatia won by 2pts against a very good backcourt Fournier - De Colo (probably the best backcourt in Europe today).
Against Lithuania France played perfectly the first gami in France with a very good passing games and good D, but the second game in Lithuania they killed us !
Livio Jean Charles and Mathias Lessort were cut today, a big doubt on Westermann and Poirier for th final cut !

Serbia without Jokic (+Bjelica) and France without Gobert (+Parker) is still close to Spain.

At next Eurobasket in 2021 Gasol brothers will be 40 and 36 old and most probably both will not play, so Spain team after a while will not be considered as #1 favorite for European gold. A new era is coming.

tURKEY, France, Lithuania too high. Croatian and SLovenia too low.

Serbia should be above Spain.

Serbia is without best player Jokic (+Bjelica), Croatia is still very young and lacks Zizic and Zubac in their big man rotation (+Hezonja), and in Slovenia team, I think Dragic and Doncic will need some time to find together most effective game formula because both are basically point guards. All these three teams (+France with Gobert) will be much stronger at upcoming WC19, Tokyo20, and Euro21, unlike Spain which is in big decline. So, the most overrated team in these odds are Greece, because Giannis Antetokounmpo will not play 99% due a knee injury, but bookmakers obviously still waiting for official confirmation before correction.

Yea but im watching France and they are far from their good days, they are nothing special, turkey is nothing for years only + for them is homecourt. Serbia is just great basketball system they would be great if they play with only euroleague players . ANd I think Latvia will be surprise.

My opinion is also that Croatia and SLovenia are stronger than Lithuania at the moment despite reasons u made.

Being a latvian, I can confirm that Latvia will surprise many teams and fans this year. We have a really solid core with 2 NBA players and a few very decent Euroleague guys (Dairis Bertans, Janis Timma, Janis Strelnieks, possible Rolands Smits), as well as some good role players.
