Hey brother are you an Olympiacos fan?
Anyway, Diamantidis and Papaloukas are great players but Papaloukas is good for the last 5 minutes of a game and the last 5 games of the season. He's the Robert Horry of Europe in that regard.
Diamantidis is no way as good as Spanoulis. He is a limited offensive player and is his skill level is way below Spanoulis.
IMO Spanoulis is easily a better player than either of them. Him and Sofoklis are by far the two most talented Greek players and Fotsis is probably third. Diamantidis and Papaloukas are just media darlings.
Anyway does anyone know if this Spurs and Spanoulis thing is true?

Spanoulis is only a better shooter than Papaloukas, Diamantidis is more equipped for the NBA because of his defense.
Spanoulis is the 4th best Greek guard behind:
1. Diamantidis
2. Zisis
3. Papaloukas (definitely on his downside).
And yes, Olympiacos fan.

Well sorry IMO Spanoulsi is way better than them. Zisis? Is this a joke? What has Zisis done since 2005 European Championship? NOTHING. And Papaloukas is definitely better than Diamantidis man. Spanoulis is much better then these other players and over time it will be proven IMO.
Anyway, what part of Greece are you from? I am from Hania. Did you know that rumors are big that Papalouaks will come to Olympiacos?

The Spurs received Spanoulis' rights in exchange for Luis Scola from the Houston Rockets.
But they released him only days later. Spanoulis will never play in the NBA again.

My list fits more along the lines of playing the NBA game, and yeah Zisis hasn't been the same since taking the Varejao elbow, but he's capable of leading a team better than Kill Bill.
Father's side from Katerini, Mom's from Nemea.

Yes he did.
I believe Spanoulis is better than Rudy. Rudy is more athletic player than Spanoulis. Spanoulis is though a lot faster and quicker.
But Rudy is taller and longer. Even though Rudy is bigger, longer and more athletic he is not nearly as skilled. Spanoulis has him in play making, court vision, passing, ball handling by a lot lot lot and also in defense.
I say Rudy can rebound better and he can shoot 3 point shot maybe a bit more consistent. But Spanoulis is actually very underrated as 3 point shooter. Overall, Spanoulis is superior talent to Rudy.
Rudy will have to develop better skills for NBA level. But I think he can make NBA fine if he is given time to develop them. He just needs to get play time and chance to make mistakes similar as Scola and Navarro.
He must not get in situation like Macijauskas and Spanoulis did. But even if he does he should try to go to another team like Delfino or Udrih. Spanoulis now has stigma of leaving NBA by hid demands and made him look bad.
Adam I live In LA now so I am also Greek American. I am not Olympiacos fan though. I am really Panellinios fan but I will watch Olympiacos and Panathinaikos games and I am a Panathinaikos fan also.

c'mmon, I'm sure you've read some stuff about Spanoulis being the best player outside NBA before

Some names have come up here like Spanoulis, Fernandez, Papaloukas these are very good, REALLY good players.
But then we have people talking about Zisis, Diamantidis, now Siskauskas. I am sorry but there is no way these players are same class as those other 3. People that believe these are best players also probably were same ones believe things like Jasekivicius is so good and he's not and never was. He is not even the best Lithuanian player.
Diamantidis and Siskauskas are just like Jasekivicius they do not belong in the NBA but Diamantidis could be a defensive specialist, he's a great player in Euroleague and a great defender but he's not much for NBA talent. Lots of players like that in the NBA though so he could be defender specialist. But Diamantidis is a player that is not even decent in offense or speed at Greek league level. He would have trouble scoring at all in NBA. Chuck Hayes type player but on the wing, maybe Adrian Griffin is good comparison. So yes he's NBA level, but Griffin is about what we are talking.
Siskausas he is like Brent Barry type player with no athletic ability at all even now Brent Barry is decent to good for NBA by athletic standard but take him with no athletic ability hardly at all and what would he be in NBA?. Jon Barry maybe with better skills, but even Jon Barry was twice as fast as Ramunas is. And I'm not sure Jon Barry is even an NBA player if he's half as quick and fast as he was.
Scola
Papaloukas
Rudy
Spanoulis
Guys like that can be very good in the NBA, these others give me a break.
The 4 above have some NBA level talent. You guys need to get real with some of these other names and understand the difference of the level of NBA and Euroleague in terms of game speed. Slower than molasses players are the ones people are coming up with here.

Hahahahahaha, funniest post ever.
You mean the same Spanoulis who allowed Panathinaikos to win a Euroleague title by bolting to the NBA and has come back to make them stink?
To pronounce Spanoulis' name in the same sentence as Papaloukas' or Diamantidis' is just an insult for both Theo and Dimitris.
Anyway, my favourite part of your message is this one: I say Rudy can rebound better and he can shoot 3 point shot maybe a bit more consistent.
Maybe.

Getting serious, I would say that Rudy is delivering the best season by any single player outside the NBA, and it's not even close. Still, we'll have to wait at least until the Final Four to name him the best player in Europe, because a guy called Papaloukas has developed the peculiar habit of freaking out in big games with ridiculous performances, and he could claim his throne again (after a pretty average season so far).

I second that.
Rudy is way better than Spanoulis. More athletic, more skilled, less drama queen.

Sad to say, Rudy is better than V-Span.
