Maccabi Tel-Aviv lost the championship after 14 years!
Israeli league champions 07-08: Hapoel Holon.
Malik Dixon won the game with a lay-in 2 sec to go. Holon finished the regular league 1st place (Maccabi only third) and is led by PJ Tucker (Israeli league MVP) and Tre simmons. Also play for Holon: Elton Brown, Malik Dixon, Eric cambel.
Maccabi roster included Will Bynum, Nikola Voycic, Terrance Morris, Esteban Batista, Alex Garcia, Vontigo Cummings, Yotam Halperin (2nd round pick by Seatle), Lior Elyaho (2nd round pick by Houston) Omri Caspi (possible 1st round pick) and David Bluthental.[/b]

So was Elton Brown the main reason? (the difference maker)

It's hard to say. Whenever he played he was very dominant on the offensive end, almost point per minute, and helped them finish 1st in the league.
Against Maccabi in the finals he finished with 6 pts and 7 reb in 21 min, which is ok but he wasn't nearly as important as Tucker or Simmons.
Overall in his half season in Holon he was brought of the bench for 15-20 minutes in which he was unstopable in the low-post but very bad on D.
