The center's agent from the Euroleague is negotiating with the "yellows" (Maccabi) for a release. On the table: a proposal from Bologna and Malaga. Fizer returning to fill the spot in a week and a half.

Batista is on the market - wants to go to a Spanish team. Maybe will end up at Bologna, Malaga is another team that has shown interest. Marcus Fizer is getting healthy, and is due to join Maccabi.

I was blown away at this new - i love Batista's game, and was really happy with him at maccabi. I scoured the article looking for an explanation, and it never really became clear to me.

Coach doesn't use him a lot because he thinks he is predictable in offense and with a limited range of moves and Batista wants out. Simple as that.

if Batista had a European passport he would find a lot more teams to be interested in him, but right now most teams got their non-Euro spots already covered.

Can't blame him, Birnbaum was just not up to coaching this team. Pini Gershon is a great coach with a lot of credibility and respect - Anthony Parker even came out and said how thrilled he was for Pini to be back at the Nokia.
