"European rings"

Post#1 » by jolbin » Tue Jun 16, 2009 2:47 pm

So, which Europeans got the rings?

3 times - Kukoč, Parker
2 times - Beno Udrih, Slava Medvedenko
1 time - Francisco Elson, Pau Gasol, Darko Miličič, Mehmet Okur, Rasho Nesterovič, Sasha Vujačič, Žan Tabak, DJ Mbenga

So, a country;

4 times - Slovenija, Croatia
3 times - France
2 times - Ukraine
1 time - Netherlands, Spain, Serbia, Turkiye, Belgium

Just an interesting stat, imo..

Medvedenko, Udrihs ring were a joke;)

Mbenga has belgian citizenship.
Also Richard Petruska (Czech Republic) played in the rockets in 1994 but i'm not sure if he has the ring.

Fixed. So Croatia has 5 rings instead of four.

I am terribly sorry to miss it, but where did the second come from?

You are right guys. Sorry. Here in Croatia it was often mentioned he got ring(s) as a back-up center in Houston. People used to laugh at him and chasing rings with Olajuwon and Rockets. As Houston won two consecutive championships, people automatically thought of 2 rings, not one. I got fooled, too! :D Haha.
