Nice squad, can give damage. Never heard of Traore, Curti and Moerman though.

looks good on the paper as always for France. Pietrus can finally explode with his national team after this playoffs' performance.

Yep, he just won the french league with Asvel.
I don't know some of the players but i guess they're going to miss
Fred Weiss a lot.

Noah is expected to train with the team, but won't play in the European Championship or the qualifying tournament with it.

I've found this article on fibaeurope.com:
http://www.fibaeurope.com/coid_ieVcrjMZIZcJD-QxBrpDF0.articleMode_on.htmlIt seems both Noah and Mickael Pietrus won't play the Additional Round... good, more chances for us.

Still no italian preselection, true?
Anyway even without Pietrus and Noah France has a good team, no doubt able to fight with Italy for a place in Eurobasket (Finland, Belgium, Portugal or Bosnia are not rivals to France or Italy). However, in my opinion to compete in an Eurobasket they need higher level of role players from the bench.

Did Moiso ever play with the French team?

France will never win anything in international basketball. That team is always surrounded by the same kind of questions each year. Which NBA player will play, which one will not, will there be chemistry between NBA and non-NBA players, how seriously do the players take the tournaments etc.
I just can't trust that team.

Sure. He played in the 2003 Eurobasket, for example. But I think he started playing for the senior team even before leaving UCLA. Recently, he refused to play for them though; I don't know if that's still the case.

Actually, I'm not sure Mike would be a starter if he was here. I think Gomis would take that role, and Mike would bring scoring and energy off the bench.
Also, the frontcourt rotation is more like:
Diaw/Pietrus (not your player, his brother, who is a stud on D)
Turiaf/Noah
Not sure about the SF position. I try to follow French League but I haven't seen Nando play recently. Wonder if he could take the 2 or 3 position.

I don't think they were really interested in him anyway. It's famous that him and Tariq Abdul Wahad had a bad attitude at the 2003 euro. After the comeback of Weiss, the fact that Turiaf was healthy again, and the possibility of taking Petro as a backup (just LOL, as he also had a bad attitude), that reduced the interest in Moiso IMO.

http://www.fibaeurope.com/coid_7XWj2bln ... tpage.htmlDe Colo Arrives In Vichy, Larry Brown Delivers Team Talk
France's preparations for the Additional Qualifying Round of the EuroBasket got underway in Vichy this week and there were plenty of talking points for those who are following Les Bleus.
One was the late arrival off Nando De Colo, the San Antonio Spurs' second-round pick in the NBA Draft.
De Colo, the leading player of French outfit Cholet the past two seasons, had to finalize his deal with his new club, ACB outfit Pamesa Valencia, and didn't make it to Vichy until Tuesday.
Another is the presence of Joakim Noah, the lightning rod of excitement who plays for the Chicago Bulls.
Noah is working out with France but will not play for the national team in their Additional Qualifying Round games for the EuroBasket this summer, as agreed by the French Basketball Federation and the Bulls.
There was also a strong presence of Charlotte Bobcats.
Not only are Boris Diaw and Alexis Ajinca in Vichy but so is their coach, Larry Brown.
The former Team USA boss was invited to Vichy to observe and also offer any thoughts to new France coach Vincent Collet.
Brown spoke to the players after Tuesday's practice and wished them well. He will be with France for the rest of the week.
France are looking to claim the last place on offer for the EuroBasket in Poland.
They are in Group B of the Additional Qualifying Round with Italy and Finland. If France are top of that pool after games at home and away against both the Finns and Italians, they would then take on the winners of Group A (Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina or Portugal).
France's first game in the AQR is on August 5 against the Italians in Cagliari, Sardinia.

Man , can't wait for that game.
Hope you'll be at full force so it's a good and fair game.

Hey man, may the best team win! Hopefully us...
BTW i don't understand why Noah is training with you but shouldn't play the Additional round... i think it's a great miss for you. Unless your federation thinks to qualify easily for Euro Championship even without him...
