Unlike the first several, we came out lackadaisical. A lot of unfocused energy. Effort seemed to come in spurts and with our skeleton crew we need more than spurts. It's not like we got beat by Lavine, Derozan and Vooch - they all sort of stunk it up. We lost that game to Green, Dragic, and Jones. For large stretches, I didn't think we were overmatched talent wise - just energy and focus wise. A winnable game.

Oubre looked solid, but whatever fire was lit under him early on to take it to the basket has dwindled to a low flame - he's been camping out at the 3 point line a lot more recently.

FWIW, thus far this season I like McD's improvements - his shot has looked much better, he's super aggressive to the hoop, and he'll get you the occasional block, but his on-ball defense is still crazy spazzy (his off ball D is nothing to sneeze at though). Will be interesting to see how much more room he has to grow.

Maybe something happens with Miles case tomorrow to jumpstart fan interest again but its looking like we aren't talented enough to make the playoffs unless LaMelo just has a ridiculous, Luka-like impact when he returns. Really hope Mitch chooses a direction soon, because I am already losing interest and not tuning into games, and we are just in the beginning of November

Not sure if talent is the problem without Hayward for half the game and no Lamelo, Rozier, or Cody. Wish they'd get healthy so we can see what we truly have

We needed PJ, Gordon, and one of the young guys to step up or take a leap, and its looking like that's not the case. PJ plays well one night and then is invisible on both ends. At year 4, you should be consistent. Gordon's load is apparently too much already. DSJ, Jalen and Richards are nice role players and surprises, but still just role players. We've also been saying "Wish they'd get healthy" for 7 seasons in a row now. When does it end.

Bulls were injured last night too, still won comfortably. Tired of this team hiding behind excuses

His combination of physicality and smarts really makes sure he spends a lot of time on the line.

Small sample, but his numbers are great so far. Hes starting to establish himself as the Rockets best player. Hes so skilled and efficient on offense. His defense still needs to get better, but it isn't as bad as youd think since hes smart and hustles like crazy.

16.7 ppg / 10.3 rpg
64.5% ts%
+2 BPM
24.5 PER

I like highlight vids like this that show good and bad plays, even if they end up being long. This game was against Zubac, who is one of the absolute best interior defenders and rim protectors in the league and he couldnt guard him without fouling.

Its kinda shocking how bad the Rockets still are with all these recent lottery picks, they haven't been completive in these games and are 1-8. Pistons and Magic too

PJ looks like he has definitely taken a leap to me.

Bulls had a couple injuries but weren't missing their 5 best players.

Their talent level is really bad outside of their draft picks from the last two drafts and the roster construction is bad. They have zero PGs on the roster right now and use Kevin Porter jr as their offensive initiator. Green looks like hes going to be good at what he does, but still has very little substance to his game and Jabari is the kind of player that desperately needs a good PG to set him up. The game plan has basically been to let KPJ and Green chuck like crazy, but lately they have been starting to run a bit more through Sengun.

Maybe the owner gets impatient and we can steal Eason off of them

im aware hes in the g league, but its because clifford wont play him. they had mark williams clearly ranked as the number 1 center in the draft, but he cant find minutes here while duren is playing every night in detroit. this is not a good team. plumlee and richards should not be blocking the guy who was number one on your board.

Plumlee and richards are currently better than Williams, coach is going to play his best team

If this is the case then they made a poor judgement in ranking Williams above Duren.

Duren isn't better than Plumlee and Richards right now either

I <3 what I am seeing from McDaniels this season so far. I think he and Cody are our most valuable players (outside of Melo). What I mean by that is they are the type that you can probably resign for cheap and give you quality insurance at 3 or more positions.

Idk man. I've missed less than 10 games of Lolcats basketball since 2004. I just have to watch it hahah. EC, Dell and Ashley alone make for a great show every time. That, plus I genuinely enjoy every positive play, and even if we get blown out, we get to see stuff like Thor throwing an alley-oop to Kai. Got to find some silver linings sometimes.

i meant to clip this play sooner...
the defense here is comical
bouk is standing out of bounds guarding his man who is 3 feet out of bounds. never takes one step to close off the drive from demar. i guess he deemed guarding the front row of the arena as more of an immediate threat.
dsj (not gonna complain about his defense overall, its been great) but he never moves to help
mason just completely flat-footed. never takes a single step toward demar
and gh with some lazy chasing thru screens
mcd just standing in middle of paint guarding nobody, also doesnt move
