Yeah, interesting, not sure who replaces his defensive energy

maybe means more opportunity for young guards (will believe it when we see it)

I’m I silly in hoping there could be a trade to solve the backup/defensive guard issue?

Probably should just hope one of the drafted guards is a hidden diamond

DLo, Pat Bev, and Westbrook are all still on the market

Bev is probably the only one I’d stomach. At least he’s aggressive, arrogant 3 n d, not arrogant I can win the game by myself. Just watch me’

DLo doesn't defend.

I'm fine with Pat Bev or Westbrook. Russ has long been linked with the Hornets. Let's make it happen this year.

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit thinking about Russ and Terry sharing the backcourt together

This news really hurts my brain. I don't understand how the front office didn't see how valuable Dennis was when he was on the court last year. Our defensive rating was off the charts when he and Mark played together. He brought so much energy and intensity to the team, leadership character all the things that we desperately need. Yes, he couldn't shoot threes but that was literally his only downside for what you would want in a backup point guard.

Drafting a couple combo guards made Dennis pretty unlikely to resign.

But it sucks that we haven't had a stable backup PG situation in forever. Always just a year or two max.

This franchise has a serious aversion to point guard depth except for last minute panic signing from the leftover pile that every now and then surprise.

Very possible they feel Theo, Terry, Bailey and Nick can handle it.

I disagree

Smith was gone as soon as...Smith was drafted. A little short sighted, if you ask me, but the Hornets are not market players. A veteran will be available at some point. The NBA scrap heap is a mile high.

Spotrac is reporting Dennis deal as Vet Min. Not sure if that is accurate.

If it turns out he signed a one-year vet min deal with the Nets I'll be annoyed. We helped him resurrect his failing career and he doesn't want to stay with his home town team? Weak

Or Mitch is just ridiculously enamored with Theor NSJ. I like Theo a lot personally. Same age as Lamelo although it feels like he's been in the league 6 years.
