Caught a break in the lottery. Drafted the wrong player.

Ausar Thompson looking better than both Scoot and Miller thus far.... then next month it will be Coulibaly and then the month after it will Anthony Black... lol

Trying to claim a winner in the draft based on SL and 4 Preseason games is really foolish.

But they will and there's no point in arguing it. The reality is that wings like Miller have a chance to be great but likely won't show that until year 3. I think he'll be a major contributor for this season though and his IQ will help us tremendously. But the people want to see him score and make 3's right now.

I'm sure had Miller looked like a stud during SL and Preseason, we'd be in here patting ourselves on the back for how great he looks. So it's a bit disingenuous to excuse away other guys looking better so far.

How did we feel about Mark Williams last October vs now? We were spoiled by LaMelo. I do think Miller will contribute in big ways and have some big nights early in the season but we definitely need to be patient before we declare how he's a bust and awful and Scoot is so much better. And I was team Scoot pre-draft by the way, for whatever that's worth. I think they'll both be really good but we can't know how it'll shake out for a few seasons in all likelihood.

Bigs certainly work at a slower development curve than wings, and they're more dependent upon their guards for production.

Even then, Williams was about 13/14 per36 in Summer League and 14/10 per36 in preseason (in limited minutes, so difficult to extrapolate). His regular season per36 was 17/13 so in line with his initial output plus some extra for development sake.

From early on, he showed what he was supposed to show: big, long, challenge at the rim and get boards. The scoring development was somewhat of a surprise. He was also the 15th pick in the draft.

Miller has had about one game where I've gone "Yeah that's a top 3 pick" and a bunch of games where I've gone, "Here we go again".

It's obvious (for whatever grand 47D Chess reason) the Hornets don't give a **** about SL or Preseason, so it's difficult to gauge too much, but there is no arguing that he hasn't done much to dissuade the doubters and hasn't popped like you'd hope a top 3 pick would by this point.

Well there's at least one in the MKG Memorial "let's give him five years to prove himself" camp.

I was more impressed by the 15th overall pick's preseason last year than I was by the 2nd overall pick this year.

But hey, I was here when MKG was on the cusp of superstardom, so if we're gonna just run that back, I'm still gonna be around. It's not like I'm rooting against Brandon Miller by any means. i'd like to see more successful draft picks here, but I wanted Scoot Henderson, and nothing has dissuaded me from believing that would've been a better choice -- least of all 7% 3FG and some passive-aggressive homer quotes.

Miller had games of 26 pts, 18 pts and 16 pts in SL.... but hey Scoot had 15 pts in SL, but lets act like he totally outclassed Miller lol.

Also, Mark Williams was pretty awful in preseason last year. He was bodied, couldn't grab a rebound and averaged 4.8 ppg and 3.4 rpg.

I will put a signature bet up that Miller has a better efg% on the season than Scoot if you are interested.

I don't think I even have a signature. That's not gonna do much for me either way.

I was here after the Thunder game. Did Miller have a bad game that night?
