that Pistons team hired Monty Williams in June and already has an identity

Hornets need a different coach

It'll just be Borrego again when Clifford gets fired.

It'd be nice to develop a legit rivalry with someone like the pistons. Both teams trying to rise with young talent. Or just have a rivalry with anyone period

I hope we don't have to wait too long to see both LaMelo and Miller go off in the same game.

M. WIlliams played 21 minutes and had 5 personal fouls. It is hard to be physical when you are in foul trouble.

N. Richards played 16 minutes and had 4 personal fouls.

I Steward played 36 minutes and Duren Played 35 minutes.

Clifford got beat at his own game. Pack the paint, be bigger, make the other team beat you with outside shots.

JB was an average at best coach and this team got significantly worse when we went from JB to Clifford. We will never be good until we get a better coach.

Duren and Stewart are way, way more physical players than our two players. That's not even a question. Has nothing to do with foul trouble.

Nick has always half assed it going up for a dunk, except for a stretch at the beginning of last season. Nick doesn't fight for rebounds.

The biggest problem with Mark coming into the league was that he was soft. He's got to get angry, get physical, get respect. Be a bad dude. Like that dude from Dodgeball. He can be as good as Gobert very quickly, if he gets that mentality. He's just a super nice, super gentle guy and it still shows on the court. Don't be like Ayton!

Both of these games so far have been very physical but this one was heavily physical in the front court and Mark/Nick were not up for it.

That said, the refs were atrocious all night. The Pistons were able to maul us all night and then they’d turn around and find ghost offensive fouls or illegal screens or out of bounds when they really weren’t. Could’ve used about 8 coaches challenges last night.

It really hurts to see Duren looking this solid too. We could’ve used both him and Mark at the time or pick one and take AJ Griffin. But whatever, that ship has sailed along with the SGA and Mitchell ones.

I’m really impressed with Miller. He turned that Atlanta game around when it mattered most and he almost did it again last night until the refs decided LaMelo wasn’t fouled at the rim and Burks hit that three.

Mark is hopefully more prepared for next time they face them, otherwise bring over Nnaji, I’d love to see how he’d respond

Yeah, outside of the obvious rebounding issues and foul trouble from our bigs we really got outplayed by Detroit bench.

Ivey was able to get in the lane a ton vs us for layups or easy drop offs.
Burks scoring 24 on 10 shots
Bagley 14 pts in 13 mins

Those 3 were reason we lost.

Duren stat line looks good, but most of his buckets were easy from Ivey, Cade and Thompson setting him up for dunks. He had a few nice offensive hustle putbacks but if our defense on those guards were better he has a quiet game IMO.

More Duren indicators that he is going to come back to earth scoring.
1. He is shooting 80% from field.
2. He leads the NBA in dunks at 18. Giannis is 4th with 8.
3. 60% of FGA are dunks, Mobley who is 2nd in dunks with 12 - 27% of fga are dunks.
4. Mobley lead the league in dunks with 215 last year. Duren is on pace for 482 dunks.
