Yeah, and I'm absolutely stoked we truly secured our top option and never once showed a shred of interest in trading up nor took a single call on Clingan.

Excuse me while I stare at my belly button.

So great talking to you as usual.

Wonderful, antisocial experience.

I always look forward to your attempts to communicate.

"Let's trade up in a weak draft." -nobody with a functioning brain

And wasn't the report that they spent the majority of their time on the clock fielding calls and didn't find something good enough?

What's funny is had Mitch made the draft pick you'd be espousing about his 4D chess moves, outsmarting the field and aggressively getting his guy or some other fluff piece.

Yeah, the person who disagrees can't have a "functioning brain".

See how you keep the conversation healthy how you display an uncanny knack for enriching it!?

Every time I see you quote me, I get so excited about talking basketball.

It's why I come here.

I really care about the things you say!

It means so much to me.

We clearly talked trade, at one point it was reported we had moved the pick by Fischer I believe and then it changed and we decided to keep the pick. Either Memphis backed off their offer or we got intel that Spurs were taking Salaun.

The draft could have played out completely different if we move down as well.
6. Memphis- Clingan
7. Portland- Matas? or Williams?
8. Spurs- Salaun
9. Hornets? If we took Carter or Knecht here and picked up 3 2nds for moving down I have a hard time imagining everyone would be stocked about our draft.

And that's not even accounting for Salaun's "minor" "laceration" near his knee, and the ensuing infection that's gonna come from any Hornets training staff member "treating" it.

Do you not draft who you think is the BPA because he has a likely non-chronic injury that will probably be recovered in time for the start of training camp or not long after?

I don't think he was BPA at 42. But like I said earlier, it's hard to reach in the second round. Getting someone who could get some seasoning in SL would've been mutually beneficial. Now, he's gonna have to ball out of his mind in preseason to have any remote shot.

I’ll go with a B.

I really did not want to move up in this draft. We are still at the stage where protecting our future picks to maximize long term flexibility is paramount, and we did that. This was not a draft worth making an aggressive move in.

I’m fine with the Salaun choice, but this thing has never come close to working out for us. Ajinca, Kai, Vonleh, etc. Not only flops we’re talking MEGA flops who were not NBA talents. Obviously I understand this is a fresh regime and I certainly see the vision with how he fits with the rest of the roster, I guess I’m just scarred and see no reason this would actually work out for us. I expected more of a high floor, safe choice and this is anything but.

Simpson is a fine choice but there are other guys there I liked better
