Imagine if we picked a real player at #6, where we might be.

Yeah the polished player averaging 3 and 5 on the Portland freaking Trailblazers. Lol.

I can keep going. Each of these players has shown they can stick on an NBA floor with at least one bankable NBA skill. Salaun is just a lost puppy with no verifiable skill at the NBA level who literally has had two good offensive plays in a week in a half.

I can’t be bothered arguing about in anymore, I’m happy with Salaun and I was happy he was able to step in and fill the role.

Tidjane Salaun: undefeated as an NBA starter on the current 4th seed

Donovan Clingan: winless as a starter on the Blazers

Can't say I was a fan of the way Lamelo played tonight. No way he keeps up his shooting percentages if his shot selection remains that bad. Stretch in the first half where he and Tre mann just took turns going 1 versus 3 against them with clearly limited success. To be fair not his fault that at least three of his beautiful passes were wasted on guys with oven mitts for hands to night. But the shot selection is not ideal.

I loved the way LaMelo played. Last thing I want him to do is curl up in ball and give up like Haliburton. There’s gonna be some tough nights when you’re playing with Salaun, Green, Gibson. The reason he’s able to explode in the 4th is cause nobody is out there getting in his head, everyone knows the situation. Miller and Mann could drop 40 each and we’d still need LaMelo hitting to win games most nights

There was a play last night I don’t remember when it was but Melos percentages were not good and he still had guys biting on pumpfakes at 26’ out leading to buckets for us. We can’t lose that by having opponents think he can get discouraged by a rough shooting night. Launch that ****

The difference in last night's game (other than Melo/Miller) was the fact that we finally have a solid rotation of smart players that execute their roles. Cody, Grant, Diabate, and Green gave us excellent defense, rebounding, screen setting, rotations, and POA coverage. We wouldn't have held the Pacers to 80 points without them. If we can ever add Mark to the team we might actually be a decent defensive team.

I get your take and agree. We all love how our stars played and got the win tonight, but a purely Melo and Miller show will only take us so far. That’s a LOT further than recent years, but gotta clean up a bunch of stuff, get some bigs back to health (good luck with that one),and hope Salaun finds softer hands and a lot of game going forward.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Martin, Green & Diabate really look like culture setters on defense and the boards.

Diabete's potential emergence allows the Hornets to explore trades at the deadline of Nick Richards, pending Mark's health status of course.

At worst, Diabete is a viable C3. We didn't have someone like that last season.

So let's say Nick Richards package to the Bucks for Portis as new C2.

C1 - Mark Williams
C2 - Bobby Portis
C3 - Moussa Diabaté

Fun game. Miller and Ball aren't hero'ing our way to a lot of wins this way, but the role players looked good. Grant, Cody, Green - and, yes, even Salaun, played winning ball.

This is the first game this season where I was like ... ok there's something here. Lets hope they build on this and it wasn't because the Pacers are one of the only teams with a weaker big man rotation than us right now

Speaking of defense, look at Hali, literally disappeared from the play.
