Fun game to watch. Melo and Miller both had off nights shooting but it's nice to have some depth and diversity of weapons.
We definitely should not have gotten free throws when Melo fell on that last drive but my god does it feel good to get a liberal whistle from the refs for once. Melo did a good job of staying aggressive and I liked him getting to the FT line.
I was going to be so pissed if we lost on a Giannis midrange walk off jumper.
Diabate was excellent and I thought Grant was too. I am so impressed with how Grant can handle guys that are so much taller than he is, his base and verticality is so solid and guys really struggle against him.

If we had not dropped that dumb game to PHI, we would be .500 and tied for 4th in the conference.

Say what you want, but Miles is a quick healer, and we don't win this game without him.

In my imagination I just picture miles is staring directly at Mark Williams the entire time he says this as Mark is standing in the back of the press conference room watching.

Many fans will never fully embrace Miles as a player for the sins he committed off the court.
I wish they could appreciate his attitude towards this team as longest tenured Hornet. Miles does demonstrate loyalty to Charlotte.
When I watch his interviews these days, it just seems he conducts himself with great poise and understanding. He's always publicly praising the right guys, and never seems to single anyone out over the years.
I do wish JB listened to him about Monk. Miles lobbied hard to get Malik playing time. He seems to hold up with troubled young players trying to find their groove. He's inseparable with LaMelo.
His interview after this win is a must-see if you have the time to check out the media postings on Hornets.com. He's matured so much. His autopsies on wins and losses often strike all the right chords.
The team magically becomes functional again as soon as he returns.
Teams know the way to beat Charlotte is to focus on LaMelo & Brandon and make the other Hornets beat you. Miles knows it. He also sat sideline watching the Hornets fail to pressure the rim game after game. He attacked the rim and so did LaMelo.
One of the Hornets recently said Miles is (paraphrasing) a tipping point piece. I think it was Miller. If he plays well as 3rd option, it leads to wins. He's currently 3rd option of the Big Three but he doesnt cop an attitude about it nor pound the ball like Julius Randle (who fancies himself a 1 option alongside Anthony Edwards).
LaMelo (and Brandon) have it so good. The role players are buying in, and the ones Miles has propped up recently (Mann, Diabaté) are hungry and play like they're vested.
Coaching and clubhouse leadership matter. Last year when Grant said Miles is a clubhouse leader, I took his word for it. It shows in the interviews.
Harder to see if you're not looking because you swore never to like the person.
You have to learn to like the player though after games like this one where he anchors the team after they've been drifting off course.

Re: GT: Hornets vs Bucks Nov 16 3pm
I was at this one yesterday, super fun game. Guy behind me was just screaming "Count your days Doc" every timeout haha.
Good balanced attack, Melo being in foul trouble early would normally kill us but we got some nice boost from Moussa, Mann, Miller and Green. Solid game for Miles as well.
Bucks weren't missing early but to hold them to 114 after giving up 39 in the first was a good defensive effort.

Their scrubs predictably popped off against us. I knew Prince and Portis would eat. But they slowed Giannis down at least and Diabate made the difference on the boards, dude was a rebounding vacuum for us.

it takes effort to read some of your posts. feels like I'm reading something from a conspiracy theorist with the strong, confident narrative you put into it.
I have been frustrated with Miles some this season, but I can't see us getting an upgrade for him without overspending.
As scoring, athletic big, 3rd scorer he affects the team a ton. Might be why I get frustrated when I see him make mistakes, but thats the same with Ball and all our good players.
Miles, Miller and Ball will all heavily influence how this team goes. We can sort of mix n match everyone else but the team relies upon those 3 the most imo

Accusation of conspiracy theory here from you reads like ad hominem. You can't counter the message so you insult the character of the messenger.
I will not be responding to you any further. Enjoy the conversations here. I do not want to engage any further because you've harassed me.
