Regarding LaMelo, he has to be smarter in the first quarter with 2 fouls there. He got mad at the no call- then reaches immediately and picks up his 3rd foul, but also there was a dead ball free throw on Melo 2nd foul and Lee needs to either take him for an extended period or even just 30 seconds so LaMelo can get his mind right. Still blame Melo there but its on both.

Then he played an awesome 2nd quarter with 3 fouls, smart defense even though Detroit was trying to get the switch on him every play. Going to half up 5 with Melo in foul trouble was key.

The 6th foul looked like a phantom foul, I don't know how you call that 1 second into OT on the biggest name in the game. That call is never happening to any other top 30 player.

Also, Tre Mann was hot ass in this game. Need him to get going again.

These aren't up yet, but someone check them once they are. I will forget if I don't post it.

LaMiller boyz starting to become National names. We gotta put a team around these 2. We have our cornerstones now it's time to put winning players around them.

Charlotte we back on the map!

Happy we won but it was frustrating. Defense was fantastic. Once again it's just circus shots. We're not hitting these absolutely ridiculous low percentage shots then our offense is just brutal to watch. I really hope that changes soon.

Onto the good stuff, it's really great to see Brandon Miller getting back to the player we saw last year. Two great games in a rattle. Can't say enough great things about the diabate. It is just a warrior on the glass. Completely outplayed duren. I don't think there's any planet where someone can watch both Cade Cunningham and Lamelo and come away with the conclusion that cade is the better player. That doesn't absolve LaMelo for some of his idiotic fouls once again. And some frustrating hero ball at the end. I mean he did the exact same thing in the first quarter that he did to get him benched in the last game get frustrated and immediately foul when he was already in foul trouble.

Fantastic stuff by Cody on the defensive end today.

I don't think it's all that fair to complain about the offense and complain about Diabetes not playing enough in the same statement.

He is an absolute nothing burger on offense. Less of a threat than even Bismack. His offense is like La Croix. "Hint of hint of scoring threat". Strangest thing about him is that he has great hands going for rebounds but for some reason looks like he's wearing drunk goggles when you just pass it to him. He's not even really a lob threat.

Throw Tiddy or Green (when he's not hitting shots) in there and there's no way to generate easy looks.

Yeah we have far too many offensive liabilities on this team right now. Ideally we don't ever play more than one of Moose, Green, Martin, or Salaun at a time. But that's completely out of the question with our current roster, especially when Bridges is out of the lineup.

I missed the game at the time but rewatched afterwards... Melo and Miller are comfortably our best offensive duo since the 90s and will only improve. This game is a glimpse into the future if we don't improve the rest of the team, and I really hope we don't screw this iteration of the team up.

Lee has been very weird with Diabate mins. It's almost like he's forced to play him at times and he definitely doesn't trust him at the end of games. I get he's an offensive liability in many ways but Josh Green isn't as valuable if Cody is in the game. We lost out on a ton of defensive rebounds down the stretch that let Detroit back in the game.

As for offense, we rely so much on difficult shots. Our most reliable go-to offensive option is LaMelo floaters. A lot of this has to do with not having any size and thus high % FG makers in the lineup. But it also has a lot to do with never setting screens and not spacing out. Tre Mann can get to the rim. Miles can get to the rim. But it's going to be tough sledding if the path to the rim has 5 humans in the way.

I hear what you're saying, but my counter argument to that would be these points
- My suggested move would have been taking out Josh Green in favor of Diabate, So we're not taking out a premium offensive player here. Some spacing with green, but he was never going to shoot in the 4th quarter anyway. I think we gain some offensive traction back by having another screen setter out top for Lamelo and Brandon as well as having at least the minor threat of a roll-man/lob threat.
- Defensively you're trading better perimeter defense for better interior defense. They were getting to the rim a lot in that crunch time and having another big man back there would have probably helped wall off the interior a little bit.
- big plus obviously is the offensive rebounding. There's a pretty high probability he would have grabbed a couple of offensive rebounds that could have given us a few more possessions.
