Nick Smith Jr damn near having a mini Bryce young renaissance.

Hornets are listening to offers, so teams are calling, and we are listening.
We shouldn't be right now.
What do we even need more than a shooter who can handle the ball in the starting lineup?
I guess we could be shopping for a stretch big who can shoot.

Ok, gotcha, thanks. I thought there was something about NSJ specifically that I missed.

NSJ was specifically mentioned as someone they are listening on (thus broadcasting they're getting calls on him). His value is not close to being realized in my opinion.
NSJ looks like a legit sniper, and secondary playmaker who is a willing passer while playing passable defense. He plays with motor and effort. For someone only 20, he makes pretty good decisions out there. I say let him play through the mistakes. We look better with him getting real minutes and real opportunity. It's doing worlds for his confidence. Lee looked very pleased as NSJ exited the game for the bench before the last stand against Klay.

That sounds like other teams may have leaked it, because they want him? I don’t see any upside to the Hornets announcing that they’re shopping Nick Smith

Other teams would want other bidders to think they're all alone in their interest, that there's no competition. Hornets would want to alert the field of bidders that there's competition because it generates pressure to raise the current bids.
They should not be offering Nick Smith Jr. right now. He just needs a chance to play with real players for once, not garbage time Greensboro scum like Bryce McGowens looking him off, or Maledon hogging the ball for a new contract, JT Thor hoisting a three. He's always been surrounded by players who make him look worse because the offense is dysnfuncional.
Put him with guys who know what they're doing and it changes perception of his potential. This audition has taught the front office a ton about NSJ that they might not have known, because they were scouting him out of context.
Terrifying.

Tell me a rebuild team drafting slot 5 pre-lottery should trade a 20 year old shooting over 40% from 3 on his career, and with plenty of cost-control left on his rookie contract.
For what? Just makes no sense to even consider selling low on a player a little over a year older than Salaün.
At least they finally have the right one in the NBA now, and the right one with the Swarm.

These two wiretaps are from the same day, hours apart. Seems to me not super newsworthy. Peterson tells Boone they're listening to offers for everyone (as he should be), and hours later, Stein says that according to rivals, the Hornets "have been willing to discuss potential trade" involving Nick. I mean, if they're listening to offers for everyone, that includes NSJ. IDK.

I'm aware they're listening on everyone, but that the leak through Stein (a legitimate source) specifically name-drops NSJ, it comes from the seller. Hornets would be motivated to broadcast interest in order to up bids. Not sure what they're seeking in return, but I would hold given his low value. He's not going to return a piece we need more than him.
I think we will see some trimming of redundancy between Green, Martin, Okogie. At the very least, we will be motivated to move Micić.
Can't be moving prospects as a rebuild team. Would we sell Salaün right now? Are we name- dropping him?

I think a lot of posters would love to sell Salaun right now, yes. The Hornets didn't name drop NSJ though, it specifically says rival teams. Is Stein Line a podcast? Maybe there is extra context we can find. Anyway, I would prefer not to trade NSJ for the reason you mentioned earlier.

Agree on your opinion relative to NSJ. Why not stick with him and see if the switch is indeed flipping on his productivity? I’d prefer to see a good deal made using Green first. He has been a big disappointment here, and perhaps would be a better fit with a different team. As for Salaun I don’t think a trade would bring much at this point, but they’ll listen on everybody other than Melo, Miller and Mark IMO.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

They can listen all day long on Salaün but there's no voice on the other line calling about him. Maybe an imaginary friend.

Proud of Bryce. I had no hope for the kid after we benched him. He's the future now. The impressive part is he played well with one of the worst rosters in the league. Get him a #1 WR and the offense should cook next year.

His turnaround is one of the more prouder moments I’ve had for an athlete.

Seconded.
