The bar was set by Micic. Step over that bar, Elfrid.

Ha. Think that bar is buried 6 inches underground. From what I recall Payton had a super strong stint earlier this season.

https://basketnews.com/news-219334-charlotte-hornets-sign-elfrid-payton-10-day-contract.html

"Payton, 30, returns to the NBA after a strong showing with the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this season, highlighted by a 14-point, 21-assist performance on Nov. 25. In seven games, he averaged 6.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists.

Last season, he played in the G League for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, where he put up 12.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

Payton's last full NBA season was in 2021-22 with the Phoenix Suns, appearing in 50 games and averaging 3.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

The guard has spent nine years in the NBA over his pro career."

So we have to waive one player to sign Payton and then wave another to convert moose to a regular contract.

Cam, Jeffries, or Curry - so he can try to latch on to a playoff team

Since Payton is on a 10 day contract we can exceed the 15 man roster to do so.

Ahhh
Thanks
Seems to be a lot of confusion about this on a Hornets Twitter then. So we only need to waive one player then here in the next couple of weeks to make room for moose hopefully getting a regular contract.

Yeah my guess is Reddish is ultimately waived but maybe we give him a look first. Him or Jeffries are probably the two guys it comes down to imo.

Waive Jeffries. Keep Seth as unofficial shooting coach for NSJ and Knecht.

Hornets will keep Moussa on a 2-way given proximity to luxury tax line.
