Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Trying to envision this draft from the shoes of Peterson and Lee. Knowing their deep desire for changing the culture to hyper competitive, dedicated to hard work & excellence, yet adding sorely needed skills.
Interviews will play a big part. Background checks. Sixers still control our pick, or whomever they trade down with (rumor).

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

#3/McCain/PG for LaMelo?
I wish.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Unlike 2023 I don't feel like we can really go wrong with any of the 3 best options. As long as we don't go Kon or Maluach out of left field, I'm happy.
Ace
VJ
Tre
In that order for me. I had VJ ahead of Ace but the more I see of Ace, the more I feel like he can be elite on both ends.

I keep telling people Ace has a lot of potential on defense. We already know he can score, but if he puts it together on defense you're looking at a 2 way wing.
Ace feels like the right pick.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Indeed, and here is the follow up point that Nathan Grubel of DraftDeeper makes about this draft class:
Yes, but I think that question at its core is drafting for star power, which always skews offensively. To me, there are two star-level prospects in the class in Coop and Dylan. And after that, whether they're playing starter's minutes or not, I see guys who will be playing specific roles for their teams. So then it becomes, which players have bankable skills they can hang their hats on in the NBA that they've exhibited at a high level over one (frosh) or multiple seasons? And from there, what ancillary skills are present that contribute to decision making and defending in some context, which is where you get to your questions. So yes, in theory that's the strategy.
Babcock claims after Harper the two players maxing out these “having the ball” traits are Kon then VJ. Not so much with Ace. But he wouldn’t take Kon high (like 3rd or 4th I presume) for some unknown reason. His view of Knipples is the same as mine. Not a star, but a guy who does multiple things very well, facilitates for the team and valuable in all three main facets of the game.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
