The team clearly has a style they want to emulate. They're getting as many high IQ passer/shooters as they can find.

Well, after being one of worst shooting teams with lots of guys who are apparently dummies over the last few years that may be a good thing?

It’s a 2 way contract for a marginal player known by Coach Happy Place. Doesn’t move any needles.

Had it been a center who actually had size and a chance to help us, I would have been more interested.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I've seen Drew Peterson play a lot for Maine, plus what little time he got in Boston, and was mildly surprised he was let go. But the Celtics have a numbers crunch.

He's not a big; he's a wing. Though he's respectably long, his listed height is deceptive. I doubt he's 6'8", plus his extra long neck and head make him effectively shorter.

He does have a chance to make it. He shoots well and confidently, and has a good feel for the game. On offense he can do a bit of everything, but doesn't have any single super skill to hang his career on. He moves well, and isn't a bad athlete, though certainly not a great one. You can put him out there on an NBA floor and he looks like he knows what he's doing. He's a smart player who doesn't get rattled, and just his does his thing, G league or NBA.

I hope he's successful with Charlotte.

makes him sound a bit like our 2 first round picks this year, although with a lower ceiling

Yeah, Peterson's in the neighborhood of a poised G league player, moving into lower level NBA. He won't kill you when you put him out there.

The guy the Celtics kept instead of Peterson is Miles Norris, who is the opposite. He's not as good an overall player right now. Where Peterson does everything well but nothing great, Norris has one important potential skill while being invisible elsewhere.

Norris is very long and can quickly get off a three pointer with a high release and good accuracy. I guess Boston figured that tantalizing ability is worth seeing if he can improve the rest of his game, which really does need work, like everywhere- strength, rebounding, defense, presence.

Basically Peterson's a sure bet to be at least ok, while Norris is a long-shot to be good.
