Jay at least admitted he was basing the success on money, and investment return. Well, I will give Jordan credit for taking advantage of the situation Johnson had gotten himself in, with a crapping out expansion team that needed the infusion of personality and star power Jordan could bring. He bought low, maneuvered to revive the nostalgia via bringing back the original Hornets name and colors, then LUCKED out big time as the valuation of NBA teams exploded upward. Between all that and his fumbling and horrible talent interventions that proved ineptitude, he made big money.

He cashed out and took his passion for racing to NASCAR, where he is now embroiled in a death stare lawsuit with the very organization he races within. He’s got some of the same advisors pushing their agenda to destroy the current framework by turning NASCAR into a franchised sport a la the NBA or NFL, thereby stealing equity from the France family who built and own it. The man can’t help but insert himself into the guts of anything, thereby gunking it up. They’ve lost some early cases, with the biggest test coming later in the year (they claim NASCAR is an illegal monopoly lol). Some cheer them on, but I hope Jordan and Hambone get their butts beat.

I love MJ for the passionate, amazing basketball player he was, and how well he represented my home state of North Carolina. He’s filthy rich, and I don’t begrudge him for it. He just can’t stay in his lane, which is what drove him to basketball success, but keeps him drowning ventures.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Yeah probably one of the main reasons he sold a majority stake of the hornets. His teams been pretty successful.
