Why does felton play so many mintues with so little output.
Felton does not ( at the moment ) COMMAND the playing time he gets.
And Nazr needs more!
Does anyone else feel this way??

Huh?
You might not like how Felton is currently playing, but who is going to play in his place?
You want to play more McMinus in place of Felton?
That's batty. Even a poor-playing Felton >> McInnis.
As for Nazr, yes, let's see how much he can productively play.

Felton's job out there is to handle the ball, run the team, score when needed preferrably on penetration and open jump shots, and get guys easy shots. He helps us win games, and he doesn't need to score 30ppg for this to happen he just needs to play efficient, which he has the past two games. Believe me, you don't want to come around here and mention Felton's name if he's taking too many shots per game.

Again, Felton is playing shooting guard at times. This should not be happening. The guy can get to the hoop at will many times, but he just looks to pass it off. The team is better off with him going off AND setting up teammates at the same time.
I'm starting to come to the point where Felton might not be the point guard I and others though he would be.
This is deja vu all over again, with him sharing the backcourt with McInnis like he did with Brevin.

There's just something wrong. Felton is much much better than Jeff, Mcginnis should not be getting more than 15 mpg. Having Felton play SG for a majority of the time the past two years has hindered his development, at the two he's being asked to do certain things he would not be doing at the point. He was brought here to be the teams point guard, if he supposedly is the teams point guard of the future, why is Jeff playing the position? Right now, he should be given the opportunity to show whether or not he can be that guy, that means ALL of his minutes should come from his natural position.

Well, I dont think it's the PG position that we need to fix, we just need one more mobile PF/ athletic Center to help out possibly start. Jeff McGinnis plays large at PG, makes the same type of plays Brevin does, and is 6 inches taller than Brevin-so this team stays athletic and quick. I say Vincent is doing ok right now. We're only 1/3 of the way through the season.

McInnis is also a much, much worse passer than Knight, although this year there isn't a lot of difference between them because Knight is really horrible now. Either way McInnis is horrendous and should never play for any team. We have him, and must play him behind Ray, but that should be his only role: backup PG. Playing 23-4 minutes is inexcusable and incomprehensible.
Sam says Ray is a combo guard. Great. Maybe we could get a guy to play PG instead of Ray. Until that happens, he's still a better PG than McInnis, and should play it all game long.

The term combo guard is thrown out way too often. Felton a combo guard? His best asset is his passing, if he's a combo guard, the league has no pass first guards. Felton is not as good as the top point guards in the league but he still looks to set up first, score second. It's this organization that's trying to make him into something he isn't(playing most of his minutes at the two).

Seeing how we look on offense when he started at PG, and how we look on offense when he starts at SG (even if he ends up playing quite a few minutes at PG), I'd much rather keep him there. Even better, it gives him plenty of experience at playing a combo guard for when we hopefully move him there permanently in the near future

I stand by what I've said for a while, which echos what other people feel as well.
The pity of Felton not playing exclusively at PG w/o splitting minutes there is that we don't have any reliable evidence to decide one way or the other a lot of the things we often debate.
Is Felton's best asset his vision or his ability to do a lot of things well while not really excelling at anything, etc, etc.
During the Nazr/Okafor post I wrote Felton/McInnis popped into mind and I'd say that the only positive I can see coming out of so many minutes to McMinus is that he's very vocal and in the past Felton has not been, so maybe the FO was hoping some of that would wear off on Felton. Further, maybe Vincent publicly questioning Felton's Pg/combo guard status is an attempt to motivate him by playing on his ego ("I'm aLottery pick PG from a NCAA championship team and they say I'm a combo guard, I'll show them I can play point!").

I have a soft spot for Felton. I think Felton's main problem is not that he is a bad point guard, but that he isn't a star point guard - and a team needs either a star pg or star big to be a playoff squad.
The Cats are in that in between land where there best players are on the wings. Unfortunately that's a ticket to nba mediocrity - take it from one who has witnessed it many many times on his own team.
But I'd love to have Felton on the Warriors backing up Baron. We've been using D-Leaguers and guys like Troy Hudson for that. Troy is the west coast version of McInnis.
