Speaking of Calderon...

To Calderon: Defense please!

Before we get too crazy we have to keep in mind that he has negatives about him as well. Offensively he has become one of the better players at PG, but we can't keep introducing starters to the lineup that has a weakness which another will have to cover...especially a defensive weakness. We have that already.

Toronto fan here - I am likely Okafor's biggest fan and one of Bargnani's biggest haters on the Toronto board....and even I wouldn't do the calderon + bargs for okafor trade.

Calderon has been playing like a top 5 PG (at least on offense) AND is a good character guy to boot. An incredible ocmpetitor. Bargs, while flawed, has world-class talent and is learning a new position in Toronto. Take Bosh away and plant Bargs at the 4 and i think you are looking at a very different player.

Okafor is in so many ways exactly what the raptors need....but he's a bit small to be a dominant defensive center (isn't he? maybe i'm wrong) and either way is a contract (wants a lot) and injury risk.

Comments?

Okafor, counting todays game, has played in 108 of 123 games over the past season and a half. His injury concern in college was his back, but he missed most of his second season because of his ankle. So if you don't count the ankle injury season he's played 181 of 205 games. I wouldn't really call him an injury risk. Bosh has missed 32 games in his career, is he considered injury prone?

Raps fan. I'de do Bargnani, and one of our PG's for Okafor. I think Bargs would be a lot better for a team allows him to play PF as well, and our PG's are pretty good. For Toronto we have 2 PG's, and 2 PF's, and really need to even out our roster at the wing, and center. Okafor would be the perfect center for Bosh. WE don't need one that can score a ton of points, mostly rebound the ball, and defend while getting us some points not dominating the ball.
