This is a really, really tough question, and a really good one BI. Props to you.

I think I would go with DJ. I have my doubts that Love will be able to do in the pro's what he did in high school and college.

He has that "Ammo V.2" sort of feel to him IMO. I do like him though and he might prove me very wrong. He might turn out like Boozer, work hard on his body and conditioning and become a real stud.

i'd say love is probably the riskier of the two picks, but i also think he might have the most potential... hard to say though. love just seems to be improving at a rapid rate. i think he and okafor would compliment each other well. BUT, love does have that "i cant stay healthy for 82 games look to him".

DJ is a weaker Jameer Nelson who can't shoot. Pass.

Love is the second coming of Wes Unseld. Very take.

tough for me, I mean Love is solid, very solid, and all around good. He kinda reminds me of Sean May. kinda a mushy PF but with excellent basketball skills. The thing that scares me about Love is he needs to develop his body and shed some lbs. If he can do those 2 things he will have a long NBA career b/c he has the skills and Basketball IQ to be a positive addition to any team.

I really like the way DJ runs a team. He can make his teammates better, not a stellar shooter, but he's quick and makes sound decisions most of the time.

I'm torn b/c both of these players fill very different needs and both of them are good at everything, but I don't see either as a future all-star.

Ultimately would you rather have
1)Felts
2)J-Rich
3)Crash
4)Love
5)Mek

with Hammer, Dudley, Davidson, Nazr, Boykins, and Ammo off the bench or

1)DJ
2)J-Rich
3)Crash
4)Mek
5)Nazr

with Felts, Hammer, Dudley, Davidson, and Free Agent big off the bench

I'd select DJ at this point.

It's college players like those that inspire threads like these that make me care a little bit less about winning meaningless, late-season games.

Anymore Jason Richardson's out there we can just trade our pick for?

Not without the capspace. Those deals don't come around every day and IMO we were VERY lucky to get Swish.

I have seen that Detroit might try to move Maxiell, and Amir might be possible for our pick and a not so bad contract (Hammer maybe?)...but I don't really know enough about him...supposedly lots of potential.

So far as the OP, I'm very leary of big white guys being picked in the lottery. We need a big, but we also need PG depth....pretty tired of the marginal guys we've been signing. If we can't get a combo guard ala Mayo for some quality minutes then I'd just as soon take DJ and hunt for a PF in FA or trade.

I would never take Love. He is a fatter version of Sean May who does not even try half the time he is on the court. I hated watching him play and loaf around unless he thought he was getting th ball. At least May wants to win and hustles all the time. He may get winded quickly but he cares.

DJ is cool but I am not sure either of these is an upgrade.

I would pick Love. I just hope he won't turn out to be Sean May 2.0.

Regardless, we will solve this question in consensus picks polls sonner or later.
