TC plays much better defense,

Compare their rebounds per minute, their career steals and block numbers, their opponent's FG% allowed.

is more agressive

Hey, you nailed one!

and is actually a threat on offense to teams.

Check his hot spots, check his percentages pre-Paul. If you think whatever Chandler does on offense is considered "a threat," but Okafor is not, compare their hotspots right under the basket, factor in playing alongside the best PG in the league, and tell me how close you think they'd be.

I could post everything and make it easier for you, since I already checked it myself, but why? Either you genuinely want to see the error in your thinking, in which case you want to be enlightened, so go learn for yourself. And if you want to believe what you believe, regardless of what the truth is, me wasting more time posting all the numbers would be pretty useless, wouldn't it?

career steals/blocks doesnt mean better defense, did you not see how much of a non-factor TD is in game 1/2 because of chandler not shying away?

That's EXACTLY what i'm saying, chandler is the way he is because of paul! Maybe Mek would learn to play better D because of paul and become more of a threat with a guard he could P&R with easily.

next.

It doesn't mean better defense, but I can't give you my eyes, so how else am I supposed to show you something that I see but you apparently don't?

Yes, Chandler has been playing inspired ball and has been very active.

Okafor is one of the best young defensive big men in the league. Last year he was a monster on defense. He didn't look as good this year, but the same can be said for most of our players.

I don't think Chris Paul would have much of an effect on Okafor's defense or his personality, but he would obviously benefit him offensively. I think this past season, even with the crap going on around him, Okafor could have given us around 18ppg and still maintained a decent FG% (49%+) if he had only gotten the shots. So, of course if you add in a PG the caliber of Chris Paul, his offense would only look that much better.

I was being sarcastic in my other replies, but, no, I don't think Okafor would be like "TC," because he's already like him in defense and rebounding, and when it comes to offense, Okafor is capable of scoring in more ways than just off dunks. I wouldn't want him to regress into simply an ally-oop catching big man.

Like I said, Ryan Hollins can do that :)

I can't believe you're even being this polite, Hamilton... this is a totally absurd proposition. Chandler plays a tiny role in the New Orleans offense... he's 42nd of 60 centers in usage rate, equivalent to such offensive anchors as Kwame Brown and Shelden Williams. To be sure, Chandler shoots better on those rare occasions he handles the ball, but that's because the only shot he can take is a dunk. Literally 1/3 of all his shots were dunks. 1/3. That dwarfs even Dwight Howard.

Okafor, on the other hand, is 17th in usage rate. That's not to say he dominates the ball, but that he's actually asked to do something other than catch alley-oops and put in o-boards. What's rather amazing is that despite our comments on Okafor's hands, Chandler actually turns the ball even more, despite the fact that he's asked to do virtually nothing on offense, never handles it, and plays with an extremely talented point guard.

So now we're back to the part that I really can't even fathom, that Paul A) makes Tyson Chandler a better defender, and B) would make Okafor a better defender. I have no idea how you would ever measure or think to assume that either one was true. Without any special insight into the mentality of these players, why would you think that Paul would have any impact whatsoever on them on the defensive end? Was Chandler not a good defender in Chicago? Is Okafor not a good defender now? The stats certainly suggest that both are.

I ought to add "C," that Okafor is worse on defense than Chandler, because I'm not sure what that is based on. Certainly not plus/minus, though perhaps the opponent PER supports Chandler. Then again, Chandler plays with a way better frontcourt partner than Okafor does.

No, no, no, silly, Knight is my favorite player, remember? Or was it Jason Hart?

I don't have a favorite player.

Actually, my favorite player is THE TRUTH.

Does that mean Allen Iverson or Paul Pierece is my favorite player? I don't remember which one has that nickname.
