yesterday on the mack attack (WFNZ) they were taking calls on the all-time team from players who went to college in NC. i found the topic rather interesting and since i'm bored and the forum is dead i thought i throw this out there to see what we can come up with. after a few days i'll score the responses and post our 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams.
rules -
1. you can only vote for players that played for a college in NC
2. pick a 1st team (worth 3pts), 2nd team (worth 2pts) and 3rd team (worth 1pt)
3. picks should be based on what they did while in college and not based on NBA career.
enjoy.... or not.
i'll post mine in a few. i need to do some research.

I'm not terribly interested in the topic, but one thing sticks out: JJ Redick on the 2nd team. There isn't any way such a 1 dimensional player should be on the 2nd team. Pick any other equally good shooter (and there are some; JJ got his records from volume, not accuracy) who is far better at defense, rebounding, ball handling, etc. etc.
Childress, from 3rd team, Walter Davis, from HM, etc. were far more complete and better players it's hard to argue, plus many others can be found.

redicks accomplishments are hard to ignore. dukes all time leading scorer. all time acc tourny leading scorer. i think he is now the leading scorer total in acc history. granted he was one dimensional, but he was arguably the best shooter in the history of the acc.
thompson is probably the best all time nc college player ever. thompson or earl monroe, who was apparently pretty damn amazing in college as well, averaging like 40ppg... but probably DT due to the better level of competition and the fact that he lead NC state to the NCAA title ending UCLAs streak.
all time, imo, goes to lew alcinder.
